Natedog's Vaterra ASCENDER

Organized my wiring connectors!

Wiring in Caslte BEC with plugs for all connections, also re-doing lighting power plug so that they run straight off battery voltage. Headlights were good before, but now rocklights work too! :)

Be right back....I hope...photobucket is messing up...

Soldering BEC and lighting harness.

Soldered!

Testing...lights!

SSD diff cover looks good in red!

Break-time, Estelle's Patisserie! Now where's my coffee? 8) "thumbsup"

I put the CI 3007's in my stock swampers. I feel the fill the tire out perfect. I am not going to trim the foams and see how they perform. I just need to vent the tire. I am waiting for my SSD wheels and my roc 412 then It will go out of a shake down.

Nice I'm looking forward to your input on the foams and tires. Which SSD beadlocks? ROC412 power... Love it! :)

I went with the Assassin Beadlock. I will let you know how they work out. I am in the middle of the a move so It might a few weeks.

Going back to the first post...I don't see any kind of shims in my diff on the bronco kit. They do away with these.

Crap. Ok where :). On the back side of the pinion ..between the pinion and driveshaft connection. Or on opposite sides of the spool between the spool and bearings or on the outside of the bearings. Maybe a quick pic? Thanks.

Found them. Both shins are between the bearing and spool on the shaft side...not the gear side. So is this correct.

Place them here. Or on the opposite side.

Brilliant !............love the plug and play BEC. That Jig/Heatsink aint bad either. I need one of those, wife says she is tried of her fingers getting burnt holding those deans plugs when I solder them.:lmao:

*EDIT* Nate I get more great ideas from you.

Thanks for the picture. Both shims go on opposite side, behind the ring gear to push the gears closer together.

Bill,

Thank you and glad to help! 8)"thumbsup"

Haha. Cool. The bearing that is really hard to get off. Ok I'll get to it. Thanks.

Yes, because it's a nice snug fit as it should be, it's a little harder to take off. I use two fingernails, one on each side under the edge of the bearing. "thumbsup":)

Bent rear bumper mount screws, they were 3x40mm cut down to 3x36mm. I trimmed the plastic inserts down to 5mm length so that the screw heads would be little more recessed into the bumper, with side benefit of using 3x35mm buttonhead screws.

Screws and bumper look better now.

New radio with expanded steering endpoints, still running stock servo with bearing added to output gear. Installed CC BEC and bumped voltage to 6.2 volts, RTR Spektrum S605 servo is rated for 6v, it had more power, speed, got little warm but not hot and still kicking! ;-)

Saturday morning local military guys have a fun day of low altitude recon around Moonrocks, note the CKRC Hobbies main assembly area/starting gate tent. What a ride sitting next to open chopper door (or in this case on the loading ramp) at that altitude. :)
Put on by Moonrock Bashers of Northern Nevada and CKRC was one of the sponsors of this event:
Your number one place for all your hobby needs – CKRC Hobbies

First main rock formation obstacles after the start.
