HR Hot Racing Hot Racing Axial SCX10 AX10 Wraith Unibody SHD Differential Locker, SCP125R

General layout (note the bearing od topshaft shim inside tranny case half too, made it easier to get it all shimmed up)

Shaved down top tranny gear to reduce slop as per suggestion by SkaldidDog (great idea to help tighten up the internal fit) here: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial-wraith/403639-skaldiddogs-buck-nasty-wraith.html I also Red Loctited the new top shaft pin and top gear to the shaft, they are sloppy loose even when new, this fixed it! I'm running the old AX10 style topshaft without slipper AX30197, http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/ax30197.htm Used with Axial plastic AX80009 slipper eliminator, http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/ax80009.htm LockedUPRC slipper eliminator kit: http://www.lockeduprc.com/Slipper-Eliminator-Kit--Aluminum_p_88.html

HOt Racing hardened steel tranny gears are the shit, strong, light (this bottom gear is only 1g heavier than Robinson hard anodized aluminum), way better tolerances and fit than RRP, and good price.

I no longer recommmend HR lockers as they were kinda loose fitting when I installed the axles into them. And we all know that don't get tighter with use lol. :lmao::evil: Price was good, quality is not.

Next lockers for all my trucks will be LockedUpRC FI spool: "thumbsup"

Some cab reinforcement and more cage mods.

Shaving down the round plastic raised bits to get the across back of cab cage piece flush so that it hopefully doesn't try to punch 1/4" round holes through the cab lexan. One more to go.

New outside paint! I like the color and shine better on the outside, not so overly glossy like inside paint and when it scratches you'll see the 'steel' underneath.

This was my second G6 and first Axialfest, I had a great time and as several other people have said it was good to meet in person and put the face with the RCC name!

Here I am troubleshooting loss of steering Thursday night and subsequently replacing steering servo at my picnic table via lantern light. Deli sandwich, chips and a beer for late dinner, finally got it all repaired at 1am...in time to hit the hay and get up for 8am Friday driver's meeting. :lmao:"thumbsup"

Was great meeting everybody and seeing some old familiar faces and thanks to Gbean and his Sonoma crew for adopting a couple of us solo G6'ers! "thumbsup"8) That's kinda funny because I had a servo die Thursday night during concourse. Yes also huge thank you to RPPHobby, Corey, Nate and Jim for updating the firmware on my CCBEC from the og version years ago when I bought it to current version and upped voltage from 6.2 to 7.4v for my new Hitec 7950 servo! I then had zero servo issues all weekend long. More great customer service from RPPHobby same as my past experiences with them, they go above and beyond! "thumbsup"8)

I have a lot of pics to sort through.

PIcs sorted out, these are the ones that came out the best...in general order from Thursday through Sunday but maybe some out of order. Lining up Thursday evening for registration check-in and concourse. Lots of really nice rigs in attendance!

Lining up for start...getting excited! :)

Our turn at the starting line!

Through the mud holes

Down the drain lol. Lights on, check! Take your time, watch the rocks and do NOT roll over or you're going for a belly crawl in the pipe. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Out the other end!

More.
Night section procession up the hill from starting line...looking back as I'm walking and driving.

Gettin dark, had an extra led flashlight taped to the bed of my truck for the underground culvert section...just in case. I turned my lights (and rocklights on) and the flashlight and proceeded into the culvert, but the flashlight was blinding me so I reversed out 30 feet and turned it off. My Honcho headlights and rocklights were plenty bright enough anyways. "thumbsup"

Spirits in the night coming up the hill behind us

YETI!

Late Friday night/early Saturday morning, back to the Pavillion start/finish line. I got towed in the last hundred yards by Gbean and his crew (thanks guys, good meeting you and crawling together!) and my steering servo decided to start working when I plugged it back in after a couple hours resting. Next morning RPP Hobby upgraded my CCBEC firmware to the latest and bumped voltage from 6.2 to 7.4v for new Hitec HS7950TH, this finally put an end to my servo problems for the weekend. "thumbsup"8)

They went that aways, but the trail was not always quite this clear, we spent a few extra hours on the night section looking for gates lol...little KlingOnRC love pointing the way.

Saturday night awards ceremonies, campfire, and prize drawings!

RPP Hobby guys doing working selling kits and parts for upgrades and repairs, thanks to them or I might not have finished the event!

Wednesday night during last minute Axialfest preps my right front cvd pin fell out of the axle, it was broken in two pieces. I didn't have the spare pins that I thought I did, so Rockhugger cut two pins out of one #53 drill bit (0.0595" diameter) and .0431" length, a little longer than stock for nice fit!. These pins are much stronger, slightly larger diameter and have nice square ends so they don't try to spit themselves out under power. I replaced the one and packing taped the spare to the left side electronics plate for quick access during G6 just in case. I just replaced the left pin tonight, even though the Axial pin wasn't broken and put the old stocker in my spare parts. Bought three more drill bits to make more and replace the one from my numbered drill bit set.

Lexan inner fenders painted black, they survived Axialfest, but have a couple small cracks in them that I Gorilla taped up for now. These were just quick prototypes and I have some better material to make a new set now. I need to do some more clean up, replace front driveshaft and a couple mods too.

Love your rig, you have a lot of ideas Along the same line as me. Just I haven't gotten to them quite yet. Like cutting the top of the bed section off to the outside paint on the lexan body. I'll be keepin a eye on this thread!! Keep up the good work!
