I bought the biggin69 BT's and they're std/mild steel tube.

You try these with using the stock axle shafts ?
I'd think there would be interference with inner side of the axle shaft
at the end of the beef tubes ID (inner end at the diff/locker)

I think my front Axial universal's could spin in those.
But I even had issue with the biggin69 std beef tubes
when using the stock axle shafts in the rear axle.

Hmmm....forgot thought Bruce made those, looked like stainless in person kinda not polished dirty like the metal had been sitting around awhile. He made this latest pair to my specs, thick wall as possible and still get the stock shafts through with a tiny bit of room to spare.

I use Axial CVDs up front and stock in the back, I kinda test fitted everything and the heavy ones look like they'll clear fine, we'll see.

like the realistic night time, tandem, trail climb... "thumbsup"

most events I participate at, in the dark...
has folks sporting unrealistic super powered lights.

while maybe helpful for a G6 event...
too much light and it doesn't really look very scale IMO

My camera fails to focus correctly when attempting night time
or low light photo's :x :grrr:
 
Thanks TacoCrawler, lots of fun! My rock lights and two headlights work great for night crawling, but sometimes a little more light would be helpful. Notice the star, actually probably Venus in the upper left of the first two pics? There were millions of stars out and so clear, but hard to photograph, I had phone camera set on HDR for the night shots. The last pic was actually completely dark, not dusk as the picture appears, the HDR setting does that when there are no lights in the pic...just ambient star light, moon was not up yet.
 
Rebuilt my stock Axial shocks using Traxxas #7062 shock rebuild kit o-rings in place of the Axial black plastic spacer (between the two existing red o-rings), filled with fresh oil and crawled all afternoon, no more leaks!

This mod was good (and cheap) but it only lasted couple months, my shocks have leaked down again especially the front ones. They still work better due to added stiction of the tighter o-rings kinda acts like more oil in them than there actually is.

So I'm in need of same length and travel shocks that don't frickin leak cause I hate oily spoogey covered shocks and all the dirt that sticks to them! Do the new Axial Ikon shocks leak a lot too?

I'm going to try Proline scale shocks (90 - 95MM) 6060-00. Pro-Line PowerStroke Shocks 6060 for Rock Crawler

Another thing you can try is to use some AE o-rings in place of the Axial o-rings. They are just a tiny bit fatter and use some grease when you assemble them. That has been the longest lasting rebuild for me. They still eventually leak but they keep me on a better maintanence schedule.

Thanks, do you have a part number for those rings? Most 1/10th scale shock o-rings won't work because the diameter is too big to cram into these shocks.
 
I'll see if I have a bag left when I get home. They are tough to get in, the grease helps and helps keep a seal. Also put some grease on the threaded part of the shock shaft so you don't tear up the o-rings. Boy that took a few extra words to not get a "that's what she said"

I've been running the pro-line scaler shock for a month now, I've got 40 wt oil in them and so far no leaking, very smooth as well.

I really enjoy looking through your build thread, very informative, and a great truck "thumbsup"

Cool, waiting for part number. Yes, I always use AE Green Slime on my o-rings. "thumbsup" haha ;-)

Thanks, wow I was going to stuff those in before and didn't think they'd fit. 10lbs of **** in a 5lb bag. :lmao: I'll check again, but long term going with Prolines.
 
I replaced my front upper link plate/servo mount plate with Blue Monkey plate, STRC aluminum servo mounts, HiTec HS7955-TG servo, new longer upper links (playing with geometry) will finalize nice links later. Checked front OD gears and HR spool while I was in there, interesting that all the super marine grease I used collected around inside of the ring gear (next to the Hot Racing steel spool), rather than around the outside of the gear and the axle housing like most other greases do.



Changed up the bed cage/roll bar again and weighed it RTR 5.088 lbs.



Re-routed light wiring to make room for some battery and electronics plate tinkering.



Trailing and testing.
