Mismatched hardware

How does the jig fare? Id like to see it
Well... it does melt the (plastic) threads if you're too aggressive lol but if you're patient and allow the screw to cool it works good. I just thread a screw into a 2.6mm hole (no modeled threads) measure it with calipers and grind it until I hit the face of the jig. I find the side of my bench grinder works best since its flat.

Once I have the length right I thread it in a bit farther so I can put a chamfer on the end with a file.
The back side is flat.

Only places I can tolerate having phillips head screws on any of my RC's are areas associated with the electronics.... inaccessible, small, non-serviceable... I don't even keep a phillips driver in my trail-side tool box.

Low hanging socket head screws on diffs is one thing that drives me mad. I know a socket head can take more abuse and still be functional but I like swapping in button heads so its not such of a big snag point.

I'd change these out on every truck but they always seem to be 2.6 mm for some reason. I guess because thats what Axial decided a long time ago and everyone else followed :cautious:. Though I think I've made 2.5mm screws work on plastic axles.
