ok here i go, please don't flame me on this on what i did to a losi crawler.

i got a losi crawler from my good friend and i turned it into a 1.9 scaler. i'm using the axles and tranny. 4 link in the rear and leaves in the front. i'm using a thunder power 3s 2250 45c lipo, mamba max 5700 and mamba max esc, hitec 645 steering servo and a hitec 225 for the dig servo. spektrum rx/tx.

here's the problem. i've tried running a traxxas brushless motor along with the mamba esc with the same lipo. motor runs good but the esc gets very hot and starts to shut off. the motor doesn't get too hot, enough to touch it. but the esc gets to a temp of 180 degrees and shuts off. i talked to DTP about this and he suggested that i run a faster motor. thus putting in the mamba 5700. ran it for awhile and still the same thing. i'm running a 12 tooth pinion with the motor. next i changed the esc to another mamba thinking it might be the esc. same thing, gets to around 180 and shuts off. motor is warm to the touch. i played around with the settings on the esc. drag brake and brake are all at 0 and the timing is set on normal. start power is at low. i'm on auto lipo for the cut off also.

can't seem to figure out what the problem is. why is the esc getting so hot? is it the motor? my settings? can you guys help me out on this. any help would greatly be appreciated "thumbsup".

do you put the esc in a water proof box? If so sit might not be getting enof air flow over the esc to keep it cool. Try mounting ti out in the open where it vcan get plenty of air or put a fan on it. Just my two cents.

im thinking the kv is too high & straining the esc

i was thinking that it was just about right. reading in the team losi crawler section, guys are running kv's close to that. gonna try and hook up my cc BEC and see what happens. maybe i'll just have to run my 10t puller motor instead. well see what happens. thanks for the help.
