Mamba Firmware V2.02

Can somebody help me get my 4px setup? I can't seem to get it right? Have the mmx setup with crawler mode over 10%. It is always in crawler though no matter where i turn the dial. If i unplug the aux wire it goes to rock racer.

Make sure you have the brake/reverse type set to "With Reverse" or "Without Reverse"; if you have it set to "Crawler Reverse" then it won't switch the reverse type to the Rock Race mode.

If it is already set for With or Without Reverse then the radio signal isn't going low enough to engage the Rock Race mode; to fix this you will need to increase the value of the low endpoint on the auxiliary channel.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, I'll need to download the manual for the radio. Its something on it. I just got it and don't really know all the settings on it yet very well.

Is there any way to run the mamba x firmware on a mamba max pro esc ?

There is not. The hardware of that ESC doesn't allow for most of the features of 2.02 and while we routinely offer firmware updates for our products that include new features, once a product has been replaced by a newer product we only release new firmware for it if critical bugs are discovered.

Another Castle rep? Good deal! Welcome. "thumbsup"

I love the the new features in v2.02, but got a question about the crawler/rock racer mode.

In short, it works. But I find that the aux drag brake value that causes the transition from normal reverse to crawler reverse is much higher than the castle link drag brake setting. For example, I have now set my Castle link drag brake to only 5%, but I still need to set my AUX drag brake to about 30% (just eye-balling visually on my 4PLS display), for the instant reverse to engage. Ideally, I want instant reverse to engage at about 20% aux drag brake. Does anyone else have this problem? Are there any other settings I should change in either Castle Link or my 4PLS?

Take a datalog of driving around and slowly increment the dial until it kicks in. If you have AUX wire mode enabled on the datalog it will show you exactly what value it is seeing.

A few things might be making this look strange. -100% to +100% on the radio is 1.0ms to 2.0ms. Our value scales between 1.1ms and 1.9ms. So it will not even begin to raise the drag brake from 0% until -80%.

We also put a slight curve to the drag brake values. We found that people that used low drag brake values wanted really fine control in the 0-20% range, and that people that used the 75%+ range didn't notice as much difference between increments.

So it is entirely possible that -70% on your radio actually equates to 5% drag brake. Like I said, run some tests to feel different values and look at your datalogs to see what you are actually using.

Would anything in the programming besides the throttle limit make make max throttle roughly half of what it should be. I was setting up the aux channel to change my drag brake and I now seem to have only half throttle. I changed from sensorless only to smartsense as well.

I didn't set it to that. I set the aux to drag brake.

Ok so I need some help with the castle link. My esc was set up by my local hobby shop when I bought it so I never messed with it. This was back in march. I just now was able to purchase a castle link so I can try to adjust everything BUT I have no flippin clue what I am doing. I dont want to mess anything up Any help and or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Go to castle and upgrade your software. Then go to the demo mode. You can look at all adjustments, they all have a helper , click for function info.... not tricky at all, go for it, if worried screenshot all menus before.

Ok Thank you! One other thing.... how do I hook it all up, like how do I connect the esc to the castle link

just unplug the esc from the rx and connect castle link to the esc using the rx cable of the esc."thumbsup"
