I hope you SHUT UP!!!
Picked up my xr10 yesterday morning.
Once I got off of work I went straight to work on it.

I had to have it running by tonight for our 801rcc weekly Wednesday fun crawl.

Here are your usual pics to start.

Build will consist of
Xr10 kit
Bent lower links
HB Sedonas
Novas ark 5.5DD foams
Fantom 45t motors
Tekin fxr
Punk dig
Hitec 7950 servo
CC bec
Spektrum dx3r(for now)

More to come shortly

Awesome! Cant wait to see what you do with it Mac.
Also, you with Novas?:shock::shock:
lol, your going to love them in the Sedona's, just break the tire and foam in and they perform great.

Here is how I started my night.

I will spare you all the build
Pics, because by now you all know what they look like.

Here are the axles all
Completed.

And compared side by side to my old berg axle.

My original thought when building this was to just bolt the axles up to my existing rig. But I had my doubts on whether it would work.

Well... I was right. They did not fit well at all without some serious modifications.
So I prepared myself for a long night and got to work on the rest of the rig.

So far I must say, axial definately has some time and thought into these axles!
The plastic they used feels better too.

My only complaint is that they still used 3mm rod ends. Even thought the rod ends are beefy.
I know I'll still break them.

I've got it all finished minus the wheels and tires at the moment.

Sorry for the awesome pics.
Your stuck with crappy iPhone pics at the moment.

What springs are you running? Front looks like stock but not sure about the rears...

The stock springs are way to stiff for my liking.
So I swapped them for some losi springs.
These are the springs I've always ran. So I'll have a more familiar spring setup. This way I'll be able to tune the suspension a little quicker to my liking.

I just got back from my first outing!
All I can say is WOW!!!!!!
This rig out of the box can do everything my old comp berg could that I spent countless hours tuning the suspension for this terrain!
I coldnt believe the places i could put this rig!
I had it in some serious vertical lines that my berg would just fall right off.
I think I need a tiny bit more weight in the front though. Some vertical faces caused it to get light, that I could normally drive right up.
The narrow rear is also a little wierd to get used to.
But with a little driving you start to learn how to drive the narrow rear.

This rig is significantly lighter than my berg though.
My berg weighed just shy of 7lbs.
This rig just weighed in at 5.8(complete with battery and body.)

This is still fairly heavy compared to most of the xr10's I've seen on here so far.

The first things I plan on changing are:
Add an oz. Of weight to each front wheel.
Change the front shock mounting so they are bind free.
Make the battery mounting easier.

The rig specs are as follows:
Front wheels have 7.5 oz per wheel(14 oz. Total wheel weight)
Rear wheels have no weight(6.5 oz. Total wheel weight.)
Front shocks have 20 wt oil with losi white springs.
Rear shocks have 90 wt oil with losi red springs.
Rig sits at 2 5/8" right now, but I plan on raising it eventually.
Rear upper links are mounted on the highest outer hole.
Front uppers are mounted on the second lowest outer hole.
I need the rotate the axle C's back a hair as they are leaning forward just barely!

I did notice the lower rod ends at the chassis had popped off, so I'll have to add some o rings to keep them in place!

Here is a pic I took while we were out.
I just tossed an old body on to get
Me by tonight.

I guess I'll be the first one to come out and say this since no one from the 801RCC ever posts here.

When are we going to see a Demon, or new chassis for the XR10, the chassis that is included with the kit requires some Chaotic Crawlers fine tuning in my opinion, so what's the good word.

Thanks for sharing! Its awesome to read posts like this after all the hard work "thumbsup"

Thank YOU Brandon and axial!
This rig is unbelievable!

You guys are some of the coolest easy going and most helpful people I've ever met, when it comes to big name RC companies.

I can't wait to compete with you guys again
See you in saint George in November!

Now do me a favor and backorder the xr10 so I can have the upper hand for a few months!

Honestly In my opinion, axial basically hit this one way out of the park!

So far I haven't seen anything about it that I would change at the moment.

I've got to give axial mad props on this rig!
They have given the crawling world something that we have needed for a while now IMO!

I would personally like to congratulate brad, Scott, Brandon and everyone else at axial on a job well done!!!
Now go reap the benefits!!!"thumbsup"

I've been tinkering with my xr10 for the last week or so now!
I wasn't a big fan of how my electronics fit into the electronics tray, so I made my own plate.
I found that the plate had to be spaced about 1/4" up to clear the lower links.

I was having a hard time finding a way to mount it without using nuts.
I started going through all my old chassis's and found an old skid plate from a mini niño chassis.

This worked out perfect.

I then beveled the front edge to allow
Extra clearance from the link rod ends.
It's hard to see in the pic though.

I then made an electronics plate from .080 styrene.

Then remounted all my electronics back into the rig!

That looks awesome! Great job on the Electronics tray. What are you running for lowers?

Wow! I'm loving that electronics tray. I assume it doesn't bind with anything right? Is the styrene you used floppy or is it pretty stiff? I'm thinking of doing something similar maybe with carbon fiber once I get my XR10

That electronics tray is awesome. I'll have to try something like that myself.

What springs are you running?

When the styrene is atleast .080 it's not floppy at all.

I just bought some .090 delrin that I'm going to try out next, just to see the difference.
But the styrene is plenty strong and that's what I've always used.

The plate doesn't bind at all, I spaced it up 1/4" to make sure everything cleared because I found if it was mounted directly to the skid the links still wanted to contact the battery when articulated.

The springs are losi.

I was able to get 2 more
Packs through it this week and we found that my foams are just way to stiff and the rig needs more weight up front.
I swapped out for some tried and true berg wheels and the rigs performance went through the roof.

I'm going to switch back to my mayhem UCW wheels for now until I figure out how to soften up these nova foams.

I painted up a the body and had my first liquid mask experience!
It wasn't very pretty!
I like the scheme and colors, but my lines are terrible!
I think I'll go back to blue masking tape from now on!
