Losi 1/10th Roller

Maybe the push programing on your ESC may help with the forward flip upon zero throttle. Just a thought
Kevin

With so many other things I was thinking about during the project, I have to admit that I missed that one. The first batch for now will have the holes, but I'll see about getting that changed...still may be a while before they're out like that.

Rich

Cool, Thanks Rich!

The pre cutting was great (I suck at cutting bodies), ditch the holes and I'll buy several. "thumbsup"

Plus I imagine a few will switch their Losi 2.2's to top mounts as well.

You need an fx-r. ;)

I will check in a few but I believe there is a setting that can adjust that sudden stop.

Push Control! Led #4 on the FXR.

It add's an adjustable coasting effect when you let off the throttle then it stops.

At least, that's what my manual says.

I dont think it will adjust out with the worm gear axles, when the motor stops the rig stops quickly, I got a couple of FX-r's so let me know if you sneak up on something??

Try the push control setting. Led #4.

Manual says it add's a coasting effect before the vehicle stops.....

It might help.

Quick word of advice check the set screws on your cvd's and drive shafts. I had two pins to fall out just running around the house. LOSI, LOCTITE IS CHEAP;-)

thanks I will try that in the am but the actuall braking effect is happening in the worm gears. When the pinion (small worm gear) stops then nothing turns. where the normal ring and pinion the ring gear will spin the pinion and the brakes are in the ESC. I turned the brake off and it still stops suddenly.

I'm thinking that the push control might continue to supply power to the axle's via the motor for a second or two and then stop it more slowly... but who know's it might do nothing at all... lol

It is not just Losi, it just frustrates me. I am old school and like building stuff, making sure all flashing is off, lots of grease on shock o-rings, things like that. I know it will happen when you have a ton being sold. I don't hold it against you at all, just the concept as a whole.

so take it apart and rebuild it the way you like it.
no one's perfect and no mass-production is going to be either, if you like building then do it! and see if there's any cool changes or upgrades you can make, i'd bet they would like to hear about it, that's one of the reasons Losi (especially Rich) is awesome, they actually listen to consumers' opinions and suggestions. "thumbsup"

Picking up mine tomorrow after work, man I hate my work schedule! You know your addicted when you try to get out early just to get your crawler lol. Now its time to figure out what I want to drive, my losi or SSS.... Hmm..

Use push control on the ESC as that still powers the motor, at a very low level, to all it to "coast" to a stop. Push is the only way you can cheat the sudden stops of a worm gear drivetrain. Personally, my axial axled rig runs 100% drag brake, tight gear mesh, and a puller motor so when you let go of the throttle it STOPS... just like the Losi will. IMHO the worm gear set up is part of why I like the Losi, as the inablitity to back drive fits my driving style.

You got it! A lot of the local 4wd buggy racers use it to prevent the sudden nose flip that can happen with a low turn brushless motor in a 4wd buggy.

Im chomping at the bit for Monday to get here, as that was the ETA I heard from my LHS. Im sure the local hobbytown might have them in, but I'll wait as I made sure to call my LHS from ECC when I saw this rig. They take care of us and I will take care of them! All of the misc parts are here waiting on the desk/workbench waiting on the truck.

Got mine today, Love it!!! Ordered it yesterday from RPP and had it today by 10 !!! I must hand it to you Rich, Incredible job"thumbsup", the steering, Well, theres just so much of it!!! This rig is more than capable, OH YEAH!!!!!

Its in the drag screw, tighten it up
