I've been very excited about front and rear dig in the losi. Something has just been itching at the back of my mind for some time now and it became clear tonight; disconnecting the rear axle makes sense free wheel/locked cuz you are stearing and power from the front axle. But what are you going to be doing by basically locking the front axle? What does this do exactly that I am missing?

Just like on the bergs it allows you to push the rear end around. It can also be used to settle the truck.

there won't be any free wheel with the worm gears.
The rear dig let's you pivot the rear around a bit, plus you can do some sweet burnouts"thumbsup"

Wouldn't it be a lot slower since the Goat ESC only handles 2S batterys?
In the pictures and specs, Losi is showing a 3S lipo with a 17.5 motor. That roughly equals 24420 RPM based on a standard 17.5 KV rating of 2200kv. The Novak on 2S would be roughly 19980 rpm on the 2700kv rating of the 18.5...
Of course, I still haven't heard if Losi's decided on a final drive yet anyway... Any word Rich?

I Pre-ordered mine on Christmas day and got the discount. But went and looked on there site today and the coupon thing isn't there any more???
Must have been a limited time thing... Probably wouldn't hurt to shoot them an e-mail and ask if they will offer you the same price... Or it might be in there interest and RCC for them to offer that price for star holding members or sumthin??
