Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

indeed!

when i went to the base weights only (2oz) my bias point moved back @ 1/4 " from the 3.85 oz per corner i was using before.

with the new setup it has actually moved back to where i started.

i went from splitting the difference of 2oz (1oz in front of the axle center and 1oz behind axle center) to almost a full 2 oz in front of axle center.
Gotta love leverage, makes perfect sense.

X2, nice work, exactly what we have always wanted! Gotta love it when the idea gets out of your brain and on the car, and works just like you had hoped.....(goes to stand by mailbox...)

You need to change your location from "Houston" to "Out by mailbox":flipoff:

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

gotta love when a plan comes together....

first two pictures show the relation to the base style weights i was running.

with them shaved down they were exactly 2 oz...

now with the new design the same exact 2 oz is farther out and in front of the axle center (the majotity any way) and with some driving actually feels more like 3.5 4 oz.

Very clean I like that you only see some CF pretty much, not to mention the benefit of the weight outward and low! Nice!"thumbsup"

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

If you get a sec would you be able to take a full side view shot? From the current pics it looks like you have the front of the rings pretty high above the axle in the front. I understand you want the weight all out FRONT of the axle but I'm not seeing why it is so high. Is it possible to bolt some brass on the INSIDE of the carbon disc right under the knuckle to keep more weight down lower?

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

Screen name should be "karbonfreak":lmao::lmao: Just kidding. Those wheel faces should look killer for sure!!"thumbsup""thumbsup"

i am not trying to lower my center of gravity with it...the car is light enough to overcome angles a heavy car cant do.
i am creating front bias with it. i want to use as little as possible to keep from masking what the suspention is doing

i assure you it is less mass above center line than just a standard base knuckle weight, and i dont want anything outside of the wheel for clearance.

like i said there was a night and day difference between the old setup and the new...

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

I'm liking the setup. Nice work. Also I'm not sure if I missed it before but whats you wheel/tire/foam setup weigh in at?

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

I wont say that you reinvented the wheel...but you're comin damn close.

Its funny how LITTLE thought a lot of use put into how or why something works or doesn't. Im glad we have a select few that not only think about the function of certain parts or setups...but have the drive, know-how & ability to change things & push the envelope. It DEFINITELY ups the ENTIRE game & keeps thing from becoming stagnant.

Nice job on this build brother. You got skills fo sho. Fo....sho.

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

It's quit possible that is even more space age than the other space age carbon crap. :ror:
This is the captain Kirk shizz!

Thanks for the compliments.

I do believe my anorexic shift has made me start to look at things in a different light. I am re energized!

I feel I am almost as comfortable with this truck as my piggy that was 2 lbs heavier:shock:eek:

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

When can I get a set of the silver ones, with that pattern? Looks great and I am loving this thread. Not sure I can tune good enough to go as lite as you though. I am loving the ti fighters at 4lbs 13oz, for now. Thanks Ty

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

So how does your new knuckle weight plate attach to the knuckle itself? Been studying the pictures and I can't figure it out yet.
