K.O.H. Type Scale Race intrest ??

This sounds awesome man. What about some high speed woops like the boys in the desert? We could even do some southern rock climbs for our own little twist on things (just add water). I'm down for another trip up there, just let me know when.

If it's in the 1:1 KOH race it'll be in the Scale version..;-)

3 routes you must finish, the order you choose is up to you.
you can knock them out 1,2,3..or go 3,2,1 or however you wish.

just like the 2013 KOH race..;-)

Can we carry spare bats in our bags, or will they have to be brought by the chase vehicle? Sorry if I missed where this was addressed.

Drivers can do minor repairs and battery swaps without assistance of support vehicle..Example..tighten lug nutz, tighten screws, battery swaps, spare tire swap.

Anything else you will need to call support truck.

Went and walked the area I had in mind for the Scale KOH race...

then grabbed my wraith and took off..

35-45-55 min lap times...brisk walking pace..

The routes..RED/Blue/Green.
*Green lap will loop back as in pic*

yellow.. is the metal cover/shelter..will hold @6 tables end to end
for scoring and pits..

Pink area's are rock sections..

Red slash is the start/finishline.

It's all dirt and small rocks with the 2 rock sections to traverse..nothing hard..there was some mud/water on track in low spots, from rain early this morning, but there was ample room to go around.

2.2's will be fun to drive fast and eat up the terrain pretty easy..
1.9's will be more challenging..

Being as this will be the 1st Scale Race of it's kind...

im down to bend the rules and be flexible to test out the format.

Then if it's a hit we'll be a lil more firm on the Scale side for the next race.

Yea. More rules are awesome, always, said no one in ever. In ever.

Anyways, I read through the rules and one of my 2.2 scale trucks is excluded because it's 17.5" wb. But it will have scale tow rig to go with it.

Not related to my above comment but I just don't like seeing a lot of rules that could exclude new comers to these events. I said could.

The trail class and both Competitor classes allow stock rigs
....what else would newcomers show up with?

I like what you guys talked about on the podcast last night where you are racing the track and the support truck has designated areas to drive too.

I've been dreaming up something similar for a wile but more in the spirit of the camel trophy.

I was watching the RC CAR CAST episode as well. The "Pit Crew" event sounded like a cool way to keep those guys invovled too. "thumbsup"

I would like to see some type of “luck of the draw” type set up. By this I mean, everyone is assigned a driver number. During the event a “damage number” and a “driver number” are randomly select. Then that person is notified of the damage, easy stuff; flat (remove / replace wheel), shock (remove / replace shock)… just easy stuff. With it being random selection it can affect all those participating. When you are selected you have to stop in the area you are at. Just a thought. The selection could be made every 15-20 min durning the event. This may slow down the pack and give those who don’t want to run a chance. Just my 4 cents.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I thought the same thing when I was planning my event but when you hit a checkpoint you have to draw a card and on the card it says flat tire, blown shock, ect...

that's kinda what I had in mind as well..

Checkpoint boxes with cards at several locations..
cards with..
time bonus/penalties
spare tire changes
drive shaft failure
etc

I think it would be kind of cool is if you drew a flat tire card you had to switch one of your tires out to a provided flat tire. Could be like a de-beaded worn out tire on a plastic wheel. Then drive a certain distance on that before you could change it.
