Ittybitty's DLux Ultra

Great job today Ryan "thumbsup" Without a doubt looks like it works really well. I am sure with some more wheel time you will have that thing dialed in schweet!! 8) Lookin forward to the next one and then Southern Showdown

Thanks...same for your truck too! I had a blast running this truck today. Not only was it great to drive something "new" again, but it was a pleasure to drive this new rig too. I was able to pull of a 2nd place finish...behind M_ENERGY by 22 points I believe.

The truck worked really well in just about every situation I found myself dealing with. I can't really pick out anything from today's comp that the rig wouldn't do that I needed it to. The new BR Mini's were buttery smooth pushing the Team Brood KR 30t motors.

I was thinking I was closer to 4.25lbs RTR with my current setup, but I hadn't weighed it again since I dropped most of the knuckle weights. Currently it is sitting at 3.9lbs RTR with 450mah battery and it's got 1oz of weight on each knuckle.

Here's a few pics from the comp today. Quite a bit of the rocks were covered in what was a light film of mud that has dried and started to flake off. I was actually surprised to find that it really didn't affect traction all that much...and where it did affect it I think it was on top of a type of rock where we would have fought for traction a little more anyway.

Not during my run I didn't, but after everyone ran I went back and cleaned it twice. It was definitely a tricky one....not to mention gate 7

Gate 7 was not to bad you had me do it and I walked up it!

Yessir...as a matter of fact the 1/8" Ti links came in the mail the same day as the comp so I got them installed that night. I just haven't cleaned up my rig since the comp so there haven't been any pictures  As far as overall setup I'm not changing anything yet. We have another comp here SC on Oct. 5th. 8)

I'm working on a few other things and will update again soon "thumbsup"

I had a little bit of spare time last night so I decided to go ahead and narrow up the pair of Blue Dot Voodoo's that I had here. I won these at Battlegrounds this year in the vendor raffle...thanks Ottsix! I've got another pair of Silver Dots on the way that should be here soon thanks to crawl-o-matic and the http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/general-crawlers/459586-team-ottsix-post-season-build-off.html entry prize "thumbsup"

So far working with these tires has been a pleasure compared to some of the ones I've cut n shut in the past (Losi especially ). I took out the middle 3 rows, which is around .452", on these and slapped them back together. I'm working on sorting out what I'll use for foams and which wheels they'll go on as well.

BIG thumbsup to OTTSIX for supporting our hobby the way they have! Not only have they been a supporter of several national series competitions this year, but starting the post season build off thread has really stirred the pot and gotten some people back in the game to build or rebuild their trucks...THANKS! 8)

First off...another HUGE thanks goes to OTTSIX for the amount of support they've been showing our little corner of the world...THANKS!

So I fibbed a little about the tires I posted above. They were actually being made for someone else while mine were in the mail to me. I am still going to be running 1 pair of blues and 1 pair of silvers. I still narrowed them the same way, but I decided to change things up a bit just to be different. I prefer to not have to decide which way I want to run my tires, and when I'm ready to flip them around for even wear I don't want them being "different" tires.

I chose to take 1 half from 2 separate tires and put them together in order to end up with one side of the tread being oriented one way and the other side...the other. Seems like there's gotta be a quicker way to say that...on to the pics...

Well I'm hoping to get some time on the rocks with them at our comp this weekend. Not sure if I'll run them for the comp yet or not...but I will put some time on them to see what I think. This was a product of gluing lots of tires one night and really just being curious...

Another great vendor here on RCC helped me out by narrowing up a set of 6.0" narrow inners to 1 5/8" wide. THANKS EDDIE "thumbsup". They are also comp cut and came with full width soft outers. I've installed them on some 1" SLW's with the tuning ring at all 4 corners. I was able to put the truck on my rock pile here at the house for a few minutes and the first place I noticed a HUGE difference was on a slab of relatively smooth concrete that I have set up as an inclined wall. With the Rovers installed I typically had to give it a bump at the bottom to get it to the top and grab the top edge. With the Voodoos I was able to drive it straight up at low speed with plenty of control. I should get some video to show the comparison between Rovers and Voodoos on this section...it's a very obvious difference.

First impressions leave me satisfied with the tire/foam setup. I'll put in some more time tomorrow somewhere and continue to update if I make any changes 8)

Thanks again to Matt @ Ottsix & Eddie @ Crawler Innovations for this setup "thumbsup"

I tried my narrowed voodoos today with full pins and unwashed. The definitely work better post scrub and with a healthy amount of pins removed. I also held the truck and spun them on the rocks until rubber bits started coming off. I think I'm going to be happy with them.

By the way... This looks killer.

You and DickyT both make me cringe thinking of the torture your motors and axles are taking doing this...probably an unnecessary cringe...but a cringe nonetheless.

Glad you like them...I'm gonna give them a whirl without modifying them any further so I know where I'm at with them.

About the pic...THANKS! I enjoy trying to squeeze out the best pics I can with my the camera on my phone. Sometimes it takes some screwing around with the settings to get what I want, but it really is amazing what you can do with these things now. Of course I usually pick the phone with the best camera...HTC One "thumbsup"

With the voodoos it doesn't take much spinning to make the rubber start flying. 8)
