IRIE Products

Not sure if you got my last PM or not, but I have the cash for two full kits sitting here and I'm going to load it to my PP account in the next few minutes. Looking forward to the parts!

I received your PM I just have not been able to get them done yet. I only have 3 more Irie full kits to get done to be caught up finally. There is one guy ahead of you (uscfreak1) then your 2 kits. It looks like I will be gone again this weekend until Monday, I should be able to get them done the beginning of next week. I will contact you as soon as I get them done.
Thank you for the penitence

Just out of curiosity, are you still cutting the top plates with provisions for the stock shocks and cantilevers? I have a set of SCX10 shocks I can limit and use, but would rather use the stock shocks for another couple weeks till I can afford something nicer for the front and rear that match.

Hi Guys,

I've tried to search for a while now and I think I have to finally ask the experts on this topic. Does the IRIE Steering mechanism work without the upright shock mount? I really want to keep the stock shock positions but want better steering.

I know the Derwood Designs mechanism (assuming I can't get that anymore) seemed to work with the shocks laying down but haven't been able to search and find any info if the IRIE bell crank works without the upright shock mount.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys.

Yes my steering/top plate can be used with or without my upright tower. All factory cantilever shock components bolt up. I did move the top shock mount back so you have more adjustment to achieve full travel of the axle in the out put drives.

PM sent also.

hi, well i see previous post of sririe missing about weekend' so this question is directed to sr.irie, i have send you a pm two weeks ago and still no answer (i just wanna to order)...

Same boat with me, I sent a PM about ordering a steering kit, but haven't heard anything. Must be something wrong with Sr. Iries inbox?

To answer your question International shipping add $26.75 which has tracking and fully insured.

I apologize to both of you nothing wrong with my PM's, I just over looked them. I have been traveling allot lately and doing allot of this on my phone, it is my only excuse. I have now put both of you on my list and your the only 2 on it. I should be able to get kits done for both of you tonight, look for PM soon.

I was able to get some full kits done last night and have sent PM's to the people waiting.

Apology accepted but definitely not required! I assume you're far busier than any of us realize, so any time you devote to making my RC car better is more than I expect or deserve. Thanks for your response!

^^^ x2, @ irie, sorry that we push you, it is from desire that we want our cars to drive as soon as possible, and i know if someone doesen't push me in the back, i'll not drive fast :). pm sent...

Hey man, I sent another PM. I ordered the incorrect parts and I'm hoping to order the right ones this time.

It has been brought to my attention. That when I was forming the shock towers for my last run of kits that my stops moved on my bender and I did not notice. In turn I over bent the tower buy a degree or so. So the tower is a little tight to the sides of the front cage.
It should not take much but if you pull the tower open just a little it will solve the problem. I would recommend doing this after you bolt it up so you know how much to move it.
But if anyone is not able to do so please contact me and I will take care of the problem also I apologize for the fitment problem.

This is why I'm happy to have bought Irie's products^! I am one of the ones that bought a kit with a "slightly off" tower (two of them actually), and can say that it's really not hard to work the bends a little. Either clamp the tower in a vice or to a table or bench with a c-clamp. This will keep you from warping the flat sections between bends. Then, with a crescent wrench (adjustable wrench depending on where ya live), "adjust" the bends to your needs. Took me a few tries to get it dead on, but not hard at all. Watch where the dogbones are sitting in the outdrives as a reference. The further you bend the ears of the tower out the more droop travel you end up with.

Irie, any chance you wanna share the exact angles the upper and lower bends are supposed to be at? Wouldn't mind checking mine to see how close I got. Maybe also a head on pic of your car for us to compare?

Right at 50 degrees
I could give a head on pick of my truck but I do not believe it would help much. I am running my composite tower not my aluminum one.

I've been waiting months for the steering kit to fit my GCM top plate, and still no PM.

Are they next on your to-do list, or did I just get overlooked?

PM sent

Also to others that have been waiting on me for GCM kits I am getting them out as fast as I can, I know it has been awhile for some of you.

I bought a few of the Losi servo horns recommended for this setup and they seem to fit a tad loose on the splines of my servo. Not terribly loose, but not tight. Are you guys using loctite or anything in the splines of these to prevent the servo from tearing them up? I've got a Ti geared servo, and fear that the Ti output splines may not treat that purty little billet servo horn so well if there is any slop there. If only they made clamping versions of the same horn...

Airtronics 94671 HV. 23 spline servo, 23 spline horn, and a little tiny bit of play between them. Time for a dab of the blue stuff I figure...

Hey Sr. Irie, any thoughts on when you'll have some GCM steering kits ready? I ask because I'm trying to take the parts from the full steering kit and fit them onto my GCM plate. As expected, it's a bit of a headache and if you'll have some kits out soon, maybe I'll just wait. Thanks!
