Interest in Rally?

Turtle,

I'll be lucky if my kit shows before then, But what time do you guys start?? Might be in just to see what I'm getting myself into:mrgreen:

We try to start at 10am and are usually out of there between 1-3.
We always have loner rigs floating around that you can drive.

I would like to say that I'm in, but not sure. I know that I've got plans later in the day/evening. I'm also worried about track conditions. I've used up my extra esc's so I would hate to lose one just to run in the mud. Although it looks like a lot of fun, just not in the budget to be replacing expensive parts.

well i know ty is gonna try and make it better this time...im not diggin frying stuff either...but that said ...i can make more covers like mine if anyone wants one that dosent already have an underbody...post up if you want one...they work pretty good

Indeed I am. It was a lot of fun last time, but I am not ready to clean everything again. We have 3 options for Saturday right now. First option is still HOON 470. I shoveled half of the track off today and dumped a couple bags of sand in the problematic areas we had last time. Rodney and I are going to go out there tomorrow and figure out if the track will be dry enough by saturday. I don't want to ruin my stuff either, but we are trying to get it ready.

I'm in for the 31st, I need to be home by about 4 pm but we have been getting done plenty early for that.
Shouldn't be a problem Griz. I don't think we have ever stayed there that late.

I think I'll be busy this weekend driving my EXO.

Nonsense. What better place to drive it then there?

Jason,

Bring the EXO down on saturday.

I have some GEN ACE batteries on the way but If they do not show up can I borrow a pack for a race or two?

Looking forward to it!

I got some 2 cell stick packs with Deans if you need a loaner or two."thumbsup"

I should be in, but I've had no time to waterproof, and no cash to replace ESC's or receivers...if it's a sloppy mess still, I'll probably pass and get ready for New Years.

i dunno my 2 cents...go with the original idea of the wharehouse thing...i think it would be good to do some technical type pavement/concrete/asphault driving...it woulkd be a good mix with the dirt stuff we will be doing all summer/spring... less worry about f-ing things up and that means less stress on the car and the stress level of worrying about nuking esc's will be lower as well....keeping with the whole fun not expensive theme

I agree guys, we are not going to use HOON 470 if it is really soupy like last time. It will only get used if its dry or tacky.

Rodney and I will get together today and get a game plan.

A warehouse sounds awesome, but not sure if that is possible.

Van if you have the time I would be interested in one of those covers. "thumbsup"

I have that "Dark Something" underbody for the Rally car, and it really seals well. I wouldn't be afraid to run it in mud.

I'm actually more worried about my Trophy Truck. I started on my deflection panels, and I think they will work well for rocks and dirt, but water is another story.

cool cool no problem...ive got an extra full size project box you can use for the mtdt if you can fit it...ballons maybe?...

Alright, Rodney and I spent a while out there today and shoveled the entire track including everything in a the middle and a couple feet back all the way around the track. The mud was not bad in the spots were I shoveled yesterday, but the puddles were a bit much. Were the sand was laid down was also pretty good. So we are going to let it sit all day tomorrow and see what we have come friday afternoon, if it is not drivable by then it will not be good saturday.

And as of right now the warehouse is out, a bunch of stuff was just dropped off their and it is currently full.

So we have a couple options right now.

Use HOON 470 and everyone bring a bag of kitty litter as an entrance fee(assuming it dries out a little more). (With kitty litter we should be able to get all the puddles soaked up and it would add to a different driving experience on the track.)

Or do a Tarmac rally in a parking lot we have access too. (The parking lot we will have access to basically whenever we want.)

If we have it at the parking lot, we will have access to bathrooms and 110 volts.

Cool guys!! Sounds like fun either way. I was in the area around 12-1 today, I almost went for a hike to check it out. The wind kept me from stopping to long, that and the gps on the company phone:roll:

Kitty litter and sand will be in tow come Saturday morning. Anything else that might help??

If we run in the parking lot I might bring the 18mt and mini-t for the boys to kill a few packs with.

You guys rock"thumbsup"

Hope I can make it out for this one, need to get back on track from all the Christmas/traveling the last week.:mrgreen:

I'm going to pick up some road tires on the way home for the rally car. Clint gave me a set of the stock car wheels and they look great.

Try to get some from the approved tire list.

Also with how warm it is today and if everyone is willing to bring a bag of kitty litter I see no reason we can't run HOON 470.

I had a dream last night it was dry.:ror:

Going to check it out again this afternoon.

I don't know for sure, but I would venture to guess that dumping bags of kitty litter all over down there might be a good way to loose that spot.

1 it looks like crap, 2 that is a watershed area, and water protection people do not take kindly to substances being dumped where they could runoff into their water supply.

I don't see how it is any worse then what the BMX guys have done to the area.

I can show you the full extent of what they have done next time you come down.

Edit:

I guess we could always do a bag of sand or gravel.

I looked up what is in cat litter and its composed of a bentonite clay, doesn't sound bad to me...?

There are also 100% organic cat litters on the market, made of peanut skins, wood pulp, corn, etc.

Bentonite clay isn't bad stuff. I was just wanting to make you aware.

Being bright white it might attract some attention, as opposed to sand or something that blends in more.
