I cant believe this...

Sickening.

The Progressive movement just sealed the Democratic parties defeat!

I can not even begin to describe the RAGE I am feeling!
X2 But there are constitutional lawyers lined up around the corner to start litigating this POS first thing monday, and with the way The Führer I mean president Shat on the Supreme court during the SOTU address and the fact the the president and congress have no authority over the court, chances are they aren't going to be very sympathetic to his cause....:flipoff:

Damn the constitution and its checks and balances

I only hope that this finally wakes up the IDIOTS in this country that supported Obama now that he and the Progressive Democrats OWN this monstrosity.

They should all be ashamed. They have ALL violated their oath to support and defend the Constitution!

Did I mention that the healthcare bill violates the Left wing's pet law Rowe V wade, which says a person has right to do to their body what they will. this bill puts all kids of limits on what you can and cant do to yourself including food restrictions, denied coverage due to viability of success, so on and so forth. all things protected by Rowe V Wade, it's not just about abortions even though thats what it's most known for.....Make up your mind do we or don't we have the right to do what ever we want with out bodies???

x2. But I'm not holding my breath. I have the same bad feeling about this that I had about the election. You and I both tried to tell everyone...they just wouldn't listen.

Each and every person in this country that voted for Obama and all the crackpot house and senate members is respsonsible for this. They told us they were going to do this. But since we are all entitled to have everything our neigbor has because this is America, not because we've earned it, this is where that mentality gets us. Nothing comes without a price.

Did they mention that included in healthcare is a compete takeover of private loans for colleges? after this bill you will no longer be able to get a private loan for collage, every school dollar is now funneled the big brother"thumbsup" I don't know how student loans affect your health, maybe too much stress but its in there:roll:

One more thing...

They keep talking like they are doing this for the American people, blah blah blah and that they are fighting those big 'ol meanie insurance companies.

But who is really winning here? Now how much larger will the client base be for insurance companies? Now that everyone must get health insurance. So, I guess the insurance companies had absolutely nothing to do with legislation, huh:roll:

well once the public option is reinstalled, there will be no insurance companies, which was the original plan from the get go, go listen to the 2007 sales pitches for this thing, they are all talking about destroying the private insurance. how many people do Insurance companies employ? well just add them to the list of unemployed

Did they tell you about the taxation that starts immediately but the benifits that dont start till 2014.. nothing like a huge tax increase in a very down economy, and having nothing to show for it:lmao:

Fawk em, I've had enough!
I hear you, its like getting a HUGE collective kick to the balls, then saying its for your own good:roll:

Addition- I heard on the radio the other day that a poll showed as many as 1/3 of doctors asked said they would retire or abandon practicing medicine if and when this law was passed. in addition I saw where Walgreens stopped accepting medicaid patients due to lack of payment from the govt!

I think that pretty much sums it up....

so what will they do to try to destroy our counrty next?

I think the fact that we may lose our AAA rating,as a result of all his massive spending, this will help create massiveinflation. this I believe is part of the plan.devalue the dollar to force us to the world currency.

This is a Facebook conversation I had tonight after the vote...

My Brother
What if Limbaugh & the Fox "News" channel have a collective heart attack over the health care bill? At least they'll be covered!

Me
Not yet, try 4 years from now. It takes 10 years worth of collected tax dollars to pay for 6 years of coverage. Jesus, did anyone actually read what was in this Bill?

my brother
1) that's called humor. 2) Still on board for the Limbaugh/Fox News Heart attack plan.

my sister in law
most people just listened to what the media said about the bill (either conservative or liberal).. I actually read some of it -there was no way I was going to read all 5000 pages though! Actually I doubt no more than a handfull of people actually read the entire bill.

me
that is a prime reason this bill is horrid. How deep and far reaching is this thing? How will it effect EVERY aspect of our lives? I want the government the f*ck out of my life, not telling me what medical procedure I am "qualified" to get. Oh, and I have read the CBO report on when benefits are to be applied (2014)and when the generation of revenue will start (NOW).

my brother
PS: There are major parts of the bill (sick people NOT being dropped, kids being covered until they are 26, etc) that go into effect within 90 day. But...whateves

my sister in law
As someone who grew up in England, and as a nurse to be... I am for this, as I have seen first hand why it is needed....So to me it is worth it.... So, Gerame (I completely understand your point, and why you are so passionately against it) but in this case, I will say we will just have to agree to disagree on this battle....

me
Um, Candise, didn't you move to the US when you were 10 or 12? Also, being the child of active military, didn't you receive your medical care through the MHS not Great Britain's government ran, single payer medical care? Oh, the same single payer health care system that is running a 700,000,000.00+ pounds deficit each year and has to institute a 4 hour waiting rule because of 20+ hour waits just to get seen? The same single payer system that refuses to even allow a patient in the building unless they know for sure they can be seen in 4 hours so some have to wait in line or in an ambulance outside and ER no matter what their condition? Come on, read a little...

my sister in law
It is easy to talk about a system and criticize when u hear only from others who feed you with a bunch of lies or not the whole truth. I grew up there my family still lives there. Sorry gerame but you don't really know what you are talking about when it comes to england.

my brother
Try and get a LITTLE of your information from sources other than Fox news or the EIB network. When was the last time you were at a hospital in the UK? Or Canada? Or anywhere other then here in Omaha?

My friend was hit by a drunk driver a few years ago. Not his fault. He was a self employed home contractor with no insurance. He never asked to be hit by that car...but the hospital had a lien on his house before he was even out of intensive care. That's just wrong. If you think that the system is good the way it is...then I think you're wrong about that too.

me
Are you kidding me? There is more to that story then just getting hit and the hospital trying to take his house. Kara had emergency surgery before we were married and we did not have insurance. She got treatment for it and we got a bill from the hospital for $30,000.00. The hospital worked with us to pay it off and we did. Oh, and this "get your info from some place other then Fox and EIB" crap is lame. The statistics and stories I was talking about were form NPR, The UK Guardian, MSNBC, and CBS. Yup, just like the rest of the conservatives, a bunch of uninformed idiots that get their marching orders form Rush and Fox. I wish that liberals would start using facts, not anecdotes and singular, misrepresented experiences to try to make their points.

my sister in law
Gerame you talking about 30k. That bill is minimal compared to ICU bills... (just pennies in comparison).. That doesn't even come close to the situation Eric is talking about, (neuro, intensive care unit for a month, plus years of rehabilitation).

my brother
Ger...we've talked about this before. There's nothing that either of us can say to the other to change each other's minds. You have you're idea of what is right and I have mine. Sorry that this didn't end up like you would have wanted but I'm happy about it.

me
So where is the drunk drivers liability in this situation? Where was the Auto Insurance that ALL Nebraskans are to have if driving a vehicle licensed in this state? Why didn't this gentleman have insurance for himself? How would this new system help him in a similar situation? There are more details to this story that would shed more light on what REALLY happened. But this is like I said, more singular stories that have relative facts left out in order to make the health care system seem evil and in need of being punished or taken over by a benevolent Big Brother. Give me facts and I will debate you, keep tossing turds against the wall and hoping that something sticks and I will continue to call bullsh*t.

my sister in law
We are done arguing with you about this tonight. There is no point in it. Like you said, you don't know the whole story. You don't know our friend, you were not there when he almost died in front of our very eyes. Like you said it is just "a singular" situation. This is my last response because I have two final exams tomorrow.

me
But you just made my point. You are making decisions based on emotion, not facts. You brought your friend up and all I did was ask for clarification on this situation. His experience does not validate the complete and utter takeover of the medical field in this country via regulating the insurance companies out of existence. Giving control or my health care and well being over to a bureaucrat in Washington with no possibility in changing my circumstance (free market options) is not an option to me. A socialistic medical utopia sounds great but someone still has to pay for it. P.S., good luck on your finals, hope you ace them :)

Very typical of those on the pro-Obama/health reform band wagon. Facts mean nothing and when confronted with the truth, all you get is cliches, pompous disregard, and insults. Oh ya, and this is family:lmao:

man I'm glade the days of argueing with my mom and sistefrs are over.
they have finally seen the light.

couple of things to think about.

first off. the cbo when medicare was started had its projections.

the projected[estimated] cost for the year 2010 they thought would be around 60-70 billion.

its actually over 400 billion for the year 2010

so the cob #'s for this may also be wrong. more than likely the expected
cost is only a fraction of the actuall cost.

second.
the bill passed yes. but it did not pass with a bypartasan vote.

however the opposition was bypartasan.
the real bypatrasan effort was to stop the bill.

so what of the 34 dems who voted against?
I guess thay get thier info from rush too.:)

One of the main things that really struck me with this healthcare bill is hearing that it will require a massive expansion of the IRS. Almost 17,000 new IRS agents will have to hired to handle the tax implications of this bill. The Obama administrations way of creating jobs. Someone has to collect the fines.

Addition- I heard on the radio the other day that a poll showed as many as 1/3 of doctors asked said they would retire or abandon practicing medicine if and when this law was passed. in addition I saw where Walgreens stopped accepting medicaid patients due to lack of payment from the govt!
I doubt that many of them will retire. Hell, most of them already deal with medicare and this wont be any different.

What I think is sad is that we told our elderly, a group of people who are on fixed incomes and have planned for their future, that now, they will NOT receive the coverage that they expected and that their rates will rise. All of this is to help able bodied persons who are too greedy or too lazy to find an employer that provides health insurance coverage.

I have yet to meet a senior citizen on a "Fixed Income". They get SS raises, pensions, 401k, interest on those investments and etc. They lived through some of the best times the world has seen, if they couldn't make it that is their problem. I am very doubtful the newly born up to the people currently in their 20s maybe even 30s will have it near as good as they did come close to their retirement age.

Many doctors are getting up in years as of now. I'm shure lots of them will retire early if they can.

Living off of SS and what you have saved throughout your life IS a fixed income. The elderly are generally NOT able to earn a living like the rest of us, however, they do require more medical attention. I do not believe that it is right to take money from their programs and give it to those who ARE able to get jobs and work hard, yet chose not to...

At my job I deal with quite a few MDs and none of them are considering retirement.
