HobbiCo / Great Planes / Tower Hobbies

You're only remembering what you want. All of the Big 3 got bailout money.

Fords CEO took a salary of $1.00 a year until his company turned a profit.

GM's CEO had to be told you quit or you wont get the money.

Only reason I would buy a GM is to get something out of my tax dollars but then again like always, Id be paying and screwed LMAO.

If you want to play the business ethics game you'll have very few places left to shop.

Most GM vehicles have proven reliable and long lasting. The facts are there.

I've been selling autoparts for 20 years so Ive seen all the models downsides but will agree GM has been better since the crash. Theres really no favorites for me, they all have their good and bad models. ;-)

Wasn't it JD Power that falsely rated shitty home loans and help perpetuate the crash in '08?

I believe it was...

Do you mean all the Toyotas, oops GM's, did it again ..... GM badged Toyotas that came out after the crash? :ror::ror:

Volt was always a better name then Prius :lmao:

Volt and Prius are the biggest POSs on the road. All Toyota’s? Maybe their cars. But the 1980-2005 pickups (with the exemption of that early tundra, especially the “step side” model) are some of the most common vehicles on the road today. There were a few bad trucks in there, but mostly good. GM was really only good until the solid axle disappeared.

Also, GM has had its good and bad trucks as far as looks go like the 80s trucks, and the 2016-18 pickups are good looking, same with fords.

GM's entire 4cyl, fuel efficient program sucked. None of their motors that they built were worth anything, the quad4's had potential for track cars if they didnt blow up first.

Other then that they have either used the Daewoo or Suzuki motors they bought years ago or just took a vehicle from Toyota and cosmetically changed it. So glad they didnt take the Echo though, dodged that bullet.

Reminds me of an RC company ........ Oh BTW Horizon shows Traxxas in stock and AE shipments expected in March. Maybe they got it figured out? :ror::mrgreen:

As far as I know, the last time GM did that was with the Pontiac Vibe (Toyota Matrix), which was one of the most unreliable POS vehicles in the GM lineup. Go figure.
Hmm I never knew that.

I do know Toyota makes the ugliest vehicles on the road. Nothing in their lineup is nice looking. It's a far cry from the days when they made sexy cars like the Supra.

The only Toyota I'd consider owning, besides the recently discontinued FJ Cruiser, is the Tacoma and that's only because the Big 3 think it's a good idea to turn mini trucks into 3/4 size trucks at twice the cost of mini trucks.

You drive a Jeep and you want to talk about reliability? :lmao:

Yeah the original Hilux was a POS.

What GM badged Toyotas?

Its ok when you talk about toy trucks like that, but when you enter into a 1:1 conversation and refer to it as a Hilux it goes to shyte.

Say with me in the united states, Toyota truck. Hilux hasn't been used in North America in 41 years:lmao:

Toyota ProAce, Toyota Agya, and about 20 others I never hear of except the yarus.

The Iron Duke 4 banger is practically indestructible.

The late 80s into mid 90s Toyota cars are among the most reliable cars ever made, by anybody, ever. You absolutely can't kill those early 90s Camrys. Trust me, I tried. They don't rust either. Even up here in the salt belt, there's a shitload of them still on the road 25 years later.

That's why I drive a Silverado. I would have considered a 4 door 6 speed Tacoma mainly because it's the only truck you can buy with a manual transmission now, but the cost for a used one is insane. I was looking at 8-10 year old trucks and still couldn't afford one. My 8 year old (at the time of purchase) Silverado was about 20% cheaper than an equivalent 6 speed Tacoma. Plus the bed in the 4 door Tacomas is so small that it's only useful for collecting beer cans.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I love Wranglers, but the new ones aren't reliable for shit. My wife had a 2002 and that vehicle was great. They may not be Toyota reliable either, but you can do a whole tune up in 20 minutes without moving from the passenger side of the engine compartment. Parts were cheap, everything was simple, and it just worked. The newer ones with that POS pentastar V6 are crap, but she wants another Jeep, so I imagine I'll be getting acquainted with the guy at the parts counter soon enough...
