Between a rock and a hard spot!
I had a good laugh when I seen the upper rear mounted fuel cell to be used as a weight Box and then you also have the spare tire mounted up high to get it to run right at high speed. The funny thing is now it will suck in the rocks as it is very top heavy. with the added weight the stock wheels will be more prone to breakage that seems to be a problem with the RTR version already.
The Summit could use a face lift from the new Falkon 3.8 tires though, mounted to the Pro-Line Racing 272203 Tech 5 3.8 40 Series Black 2.75 Wide 0 Offset 17mm Wheel they would look good and be strong. Add the Yeti 380 body and you would have a very nice looking Summit.
The 380 body fits a 14" wheel base and the Summit is a 14.25.
If you used the rear Revo wing mount to the Summit it would work as a mounting point that swiveled so that front body mounts would be all that is needed to lift the body up.
I do like the look of the rear tire mounted bad it added weight where it isn't needed as a crawler.

I'm currently working on a stretched Summit that is designed to use the Yeti XL body and cage. seeing the kit is a good deal for me as it will be broke down into parts and sold on ebay. I figure I'll spend 100 for the tires and a 100 for the body and cage so 200 told will get me closer to my build getting done. I don't need the tires but I'll get them to try.

Here is what I would do if I was Axial. I would build kit Wraith XL so that you have a better product that doesn't need added weight to perform as it should. And change the Yeti XL to a short course truck. That way it performs as it should also.

I changed my mind! I'll use the body on my stretched Summit build and uses the rest to prove my point that this Yeti XL would make a better SC truck. Then I end up with another 1/5 truck in my collection.

Why do people insist on thinking the Yeti and Yeti XL are the same sort of vehicle as the Wraith or the Summit? Neither version of the Yeti is a crawler of any sort; it's an off-road racer with a moderate ability to climb over rocks. (hell, even the Summit isn't a crawler, it just has a halfway-decent ability to pretend it's a crawler because of its locking diffs.) If you want a vehicle that will slither over any rock garden you can find, the Yeti is not the vehicle for you.

ive bit my tongue long enough.

would you just knock it off. seriously.

you built a large scale truck that probably drives better than a Yeti / YetiXL.

good on ya. truly.

but please. enough is enough. you clearly only like "bits" of the axial product. cool. but get over it. play with your truck. improve it. enjoy it.

but stop with the axial bashing, and the constant forum whoring with your truck. keep it to your thread. please.

kthxbai.

Thats funny! This is a summit thread that your in. I started this here because I thought I could better the guys that have Summits with some of it's short comings. A also I like the Axial products. But the Axial Yeti is a stadium style platform that there trying to sell as a rock racer. The funny thing is you guys eat it up as a new concept that rc world has yet to see. The fact that you have such a large amount of over hang that is need the rear to be ballast makes it a concern in the design. So much so that it needs a sway-bar just to keep the front end down. I love the look and the design. I just don't think that it should have anything to do with rocks other than it has a great cage and body with oversized tires (all good things) The Wraith design is a much better platform. The yeti I feel is a fad that will pass. I really do like the design or I would not have tried to put my twist on it's design! I built the Losi DBXL on this same chassis first. No one had a problem with me changing up it's design and I dropped over 10 pounds off of the original design. I build better mouse traps from what I like in style and in form. I like the Traxxas revo platform and have done 2 builds from it. I have many builds. this is just one that you don't like. I get that. But don't say that I don't like it because I was putting ideas about what could be done to improve some of it's design before you could even buy one. Like the wheel hex switching to 24mm so that you could run 1/5 scale tires. or using traxxas 17mm hex to run so that you have a better choice of wheels. I will be buying the XL kit and will be putting my twist on it. Yes it will be a stadium style of build but that is how I see it.

Omg u missed my point completely.

Ur truck is cool. But there's no need to advertise it in every section of the forum. U have a build thread maybe put a link to it in ur Signature.
That way every everyone can see it everytime u post

Oh I got it. But like you and everyone like you, that have some bad to say... didn't read or understand why you see the 2 pictures that I just posed. It was in regard to the video the Summits that are in the video. There built SummitS that are rock crawlers. Because of the comment that was... ''The Summit isn't a very good crawler''. So I posted a video and showed 2 pictures of the best summit crawler that I know of. So your just being rude of something else. I'm not sure of witch that's on you.
