I thought you got banned. Must have been temporary. Welcome back! "thumbsup"

It's larger and it still has the same, weak BEC as the SV3. So they added extra cooling and that's it? Doesn't seem like much of an upgrade. I had high hopes since they did wonders with the X series.

No it doesn't. It's got a jumper to switch between forward/reverse with drag brake, forward/brake/reverse, forward with brake, and forward only. Other than that, it's pretty basic and can run 4s, but the bec is only 5v/3a.

What a great thread with tons of useful information. I'm interested in your esc settings. I have a ble and a 2700kv puller, and a mamba x and the same motor. how would you set it up, for comp based crawling in a scx10 2, maybe a pic of the castlink page setup..

i'm having some trouble with my scx10ii randomly losing power or connection to my radio or something, i'm not really sure what's going on.

at seemingly random times, the truck will just die and the esc will beep at me like my radio is off. sometimes it comes back and everything's back to normal, other times i have to turn the truck off and back on to get it back. what could be causing this?

i have a dynamite 35t 540 brushed motor and a dynamite s2210 esc. i'm using flysky gt3b and included reciever, and the servo i'm running is a savox sc-0251mg.

i'm running a 45c 4100mAh 3s battery, but i feel like i remember this happening when i was still on 2s as well, but maybe not.

any ideas as to where i should start troubleshooting this thing? pretty much all of the electronics i bought just to get rolling with with the intention to upgrade eventually, but i'd like to not have to replace anything already if i can help it.

i should mention i'm still super new to this hobby and could very well be missing something right in front of me that's super obvious

I've got the Mamba X ESC installed and everything is up and running in the new Rally. (after a call to HiTec, the servo is fine, just LOUD). Anyway, the car runs great and awesome power. The only thing I noticed today was that the ESC is armed as soon as I plug the battery in, even when the ESC power switch is in the OFF position. It's not really a huge deal as I don't even have on/off switches on my other ESCs, but it's a quirk that will bother me until I figure it out. Just a bad switch? Any thoughts?

I'm trying to work out what could cause that.
Do you have an external BEC?

Hi Robert - After speaking with Tech Support at Castle, the determination was that it either got wet (which I explained was not the case as it was just installed and only run on dry pavement), or it was simply a bad on/off switch. Castle offered to send me a new switch, but honestly, I don't even run switches on any of my other ESC's, so it's not a big deal. It was really more of a quirk I just wanted to get to the bottom of the situation on. I'm going to just pull the switch out of the mix. Other than that, the Mamba X and 3800kv are working awesome. Just a night and day difference. Thanks for the support!

John,

Would you tell me the advantages of the Brushless Puller Pro motor vs the Brushless Trailmaster Pro motor. I'm curious as to the price difference & the 2 pole vs 4 pole.

Hello,

My apologies if you have answered this, and the endless searching of every board has been very time consuming. I have a Traxxas TRX-4 and i have purchased a Mamba X and motor combo for it. My question is in regards to installation.

The stock esc has holes for mounting. Is there a mounting piece that I should be getting for the Mamba? if not what is the best way to mount it?

Thank you!

I'm not sure if it will fit in the TRX-4 mounting holes, but RPM makes a mounting cage for the Mamba X. I have it in my bomber, works well and gives you a place to mount the on off switch.

Mounting an ESC is mechanics, not electronics, and John Holmes is the owner of Holmes Hobbies not Castle so it might even be considered rude to ask this man this question.
I'm pretty sure "How do I mount an ESC?" is a new to RC question, not an ohms, watts, volts question. Right?

Quick question for Holmes Hobbies.
I know this is a crawler site but do you have or ever plan to make a motor that would work in a pure 1/8 basher ?
Maybe something for the Arrma Kraton on 4 to 6s?

I know the Mamba Monster can be used but high end motors are MIA.

Thank you

Heard of Poseidon motors? Don't know if they are considered high end. I've heard of them but never looked into it.
