Harley's Guide to a Bulletproof Wraith

Are there any other options for a top shaft to be able to run the gen3 slipper? The supershafty has been out of stock forever now.

Hi Guys........

I just put 4 TopShafts in stock on the site
We have to keep a certain amount out of stock for our "BOMB PROOF" Complete Trans builds

The New TopShafts will be ready for shipping sometime end of next week

Your shaft requires using a different slipper assembly than the stock axial correct?

indeed what I thought.
I went with the stock shaft, slipper, & gear, after replacing the bottom & idler with RRP steel. I don't need the full bulletproof (27T brushed 3s max) but I would feel better if all my gears were hardened steel, so its not really worth it to me to get everything else. I would buy a hardened steel gear for the stock shaft or a 1 pc drop in if it ever shows up.
Thanks for a quick response

I bought the proline slash shocks and the DLUX shockends my question is what keeps the shock from floating side to side on the shock ends? Are they supposed to snap in the shock end cap?

I apoligize...I just checked Dlux shock caps, nice mod on these!!! So why do they not make any for Axial comp shocks??? or do they searching...

Hey Harley..........

Here's what happens when you run 5mm outPuts on 4S LiPo
with all Steel and aluminum HopUp Parts from Vanquish, MIP and SuperShafty.

there's just not enough Meat around the hole of the 5mm outputs to
take the abuse of the extra power

Thought I'd share...............;-)

6mm Chrome Moly outputs available in 2 weeks or less.........

Regards Rick

6mm outputs ??? It worked last time when I chimed in about topshafts...got bombproof tranny build ready & waiting for SS outputs to complete ...no hurry just dont want to miss out on availability!!!"thumbsup"

Got my eye on SS ready to order 6mm outputs & ax10 motor plate...when MIP shafts get here its time to build!!!

hi ive been looking through but cant see anything on which place is the better mount for the servo either stock diff or chassis...??? I can see pros and cons with both so just thought id see what everyone else thinks.

also its my 1st post under this user name as I cant remember my info from years ago as im just getting back into rc crawlers 8)8)8)

Harley,

Thanks for the amazing guide you've put together here, I'm totally new to RC and crawlers and your write up it's been a ton of help.

Now, on your parts list, the front axle's Axial HD gears link takes me to RPP's page and the set of gears there are 38/13 which I believe is the stock one.
Are you going with 38/13 and 48/13? or 36/14 and 43/13?
Axial's website talks about using 36/14 and 43/13 for UD and OD (look at me throwing lingo around already)
Anyway, the only reason why I'm asking is because I'm still learning and this one got me confused.
Plus, I just got a Wraith Kit and it comes with 38/13 x2 of course but I could start there I guess.
I'm set on a HH TorqueMaster 35t and the BRXL and some of the gearing proposed here.
Thanks a lot!

I run the stock ratio in both the front and rear except in the HD version. Running the mixed ratios in these rigs causes a lot of stress on the pinion bearings and can lead to failure. They are great when crawling but at speed they are tough on things.
