Not digging the blue graphics either. I say keep the black and sticker it up....
I painted my HPI Mini Desert Trophy Truck with the same color and Monster graphics cuz Cody wanted me to do it. I don't normally like black but it turned out great so I wanted to try it on Guido.

I'm thinking yer right, a few stickers; call it simple and good. I was going for less flash with this rebuild and more "garage built trail rig" anyway. 8)

I agree not a fan of the graphic. How about your rally number on the door? From the look of the course it looks like a crazy race track. :ror:

Yeah, I say keep it simple, and like you said you were going for garage build not full on sponsored pro rock crawler... Well you didn't say that but I figure that's what you mean.

Rally number is a cool idea, that and a [HILLBILIGAN] sticker is all that's needed to look good.:ror:

Yeah, that jump is f'ing huge!

yer right, that's what I was getting at when I was welding on the new rear end.

How about some big gold decals that say Hillibiligan? Lol

Too bad someone can school ya up some bronze colored sponsorship decals for that.

Kinda like these

I like this quote from Jeremy about the Four Wheeler Top Truck Challenge of Champions. Seemed to fit.

“I know I’ll be up against a lot more expensive, lighter, and bigger horsepower rigs, but will try to finish every event as high in the points as we can and maybe the big guys will mess up.”
—Jeremy Naeger

I've still got alot to do so I doubt I will have time to do anything with the body, but I do like it how it sits. I guess I'm just so used to "flashy" that I feel like it's missing something. :ror: I appreciate all the input on the paint.

Got the rear axle put together and installed, put the Pro4 back together and installed it (need my pinions to come in still), rebuilt the tranny and installed a new 54T 32 pitch spur gear. I repainted the front axle to match the rear with a charcoal color because I just was not liking how shiny the black was. I do not like gloss black and for some reason the semi-gloss turned out too glossy. I like the charcoal color better.

Clearance at the skid is coming in at 3.25" and the wheelbase is right at 14.75" or just a touch under. I think that should work pretty well.

Chris I am at 14 and change and its perfect. You should like the extended reach. With the 4WS it makes the WB stretch pretty much disappear.

Chris, when it comes to appearances just remember KISS. Keep it simple stupid. I think Guido looks sick just all black panels. The black streamlines everything and gives the eyes a chance to catch all the details put into the rig.JMO. Congrats and good luck homie...Viva Guido!

love the black and gold. i agree with a few well placed scale sized sponsor decals. like the ones you get in the 1:1 boxes with your parts.

i may have missed it, but are there any pics of the (fake) motor mounts?

btw are those old school RPP wheels that have been anoed and remachined?
i have a set of those still. refuse to get rid of them there just so cool.

Good to hear guys, I'm just not used to the KISS look but I'm glad to hear that you guys like it.

Difuser, I was a little worried about the belly clearance being too high. I can't get as much suspension uptravel as I originally thought so the ride height is a bit higher than I had planned. That's why I pushed the wb out a bit more. Glad to hear your is similar and working good.

Cory, there are pics of the motor mounts in this post.

The mounts are functional and are the only thing holding the Parma hemi in place.

Holmes was out of the little stickers :x, I've got some small RPP shock stickers, some small vanquish stickers, and some small RCC stickers though.

The belly height on the Fj is same. I stretched the wb to 14'' also. Do you remember what shocks you using ? Fj is getting to be pig and I don't think the proline scale shocks are up to task.

They are old school RPP wheels. I painted them so I could get the remachined look without the hassle or expense. They were raw aluminum wheels with black ano rings.

They remind me of the Allied Monsters and I didn't have to buy new wheels. Win, win.

Thanks kila. 8)

Ok, so I think maybe my problem is that there is no purple in this version of Guido. Every other version has had purple in the paint.

What about something like this? Under the flourescent lights the color looks a bit blue, but it's a nice metallic purple like the paint in version 2.
