Gettin' Southern Showdown! ~OCOEE WHITE WATER CENTER~

It wouldn't make sense to change the location until late next week. I mean if you're planning to attend the Showdown...you're planning to attend. You should have already made arrangements for lodging/camping, driving, etc. no matter where it ends up being. It only makes sense to wait this situation out as long as possible and keep our fingers crossed that things work out for the Ocoee location. "thumbsup" I'd say that a decision is made by Thursday evening 8)

I just got back from up there. There is a big area outside the gate that would make a great parking area for us, but there are 3 no parking signs. The rock way down on that end isn't really world class either.

I drove about 5 miles up past the WWC looking all over, and didn't see anything. Everywhere along the river with decent accessible rock had no parking available.

I actually saw a FS employee working. He was emptying trash cans at the restrooms at the lower boat put in (which is still open). He said they are still maintaining the trash in the areas they cant close and he said that Enforcement is still patrolling. I saw one of them too in his truck passing by.

If the Government doesn't start back up this week, You should definitely select Carter's.

I found some old Carter's video. This is what it's like. You can't see the rest but the place is huge and tons of rock. Just FYI in case we end up here.

Sounds to me like the government needs to get their heads out of their prostates and get back to work!!

This really sucks for a lot of people who have committed to come to this comp. Like Rowdy said, thanks Obama and the people who voted for his ass.:x

You know whats funny is i CALLED the lodging and reregulation line to ask about reserving the pavillion and got told it was open, but the person who was in charge of the reservations was not in at the moment. I beleive that was thursday before i left for okie. Thats a pretty big dent, and i really apologise for the inconvenience on this issue with the government and im doing evrything i can to make this comp happen on this date to satisfy the accomodations that have been made. Will be calling LRC in the morning...

Nothing against LRC, its a great place. But every big comp in the southeast is held there, its time for another location for a big comp. Keep ECC at LRC.

Looks like it might be time to find a location that is not government controlled, and still has parking, and has some rock... offer still stands Colby :|

NOOOO, PLEASE DONT CHANGE DATE. Who has a big feild, a dumptruck, and a new holland. Hell we will make our own damn rock pile by golly. Screw the government
