Gettin' Southern Showdown! ~OCOEE WHITE WATER CENTER~

Remember that your state has to have a total of 3 drivers to qualify as a TEAM. I beleive NC will be receiving Barrybelvedere and Beest "thumbsup"

How about a little sneak peak at the 2.2s SHAFTSMEN trophies!? Krawler konceptz did a helluva job! Thank you!

Also a giant shout out to Pete over at RCtrim for the tech cards for 2.2 pro drivers. We have since redone the back to organise the teams courses that are actually going to be competing. Thanks Pete!

These are just small tech cards you will receive at tech. They will fit in your pocket but are actual card stock so they cant get wrinkled or folded, and i would say kind of a small trophy at the end of the day for everyone to hangon to after wards.

Colby, are you creating a plan B location?

Yeah, unfortunately I would look for a plan b right now. Obviously we want to be at Ocoee. Last minute location permission and plans will make it really difficult for everyone.

Was waiting on your text later that evening lol

With me not really having reliable transportation im going to have to rely on the TN guys to help me out on this one.

Right now the only plan B I have is Carters Dam.... Plenty of parking, plenty of rocks, Rocks are mere feet from the parking lot. Theres a pavillion, etc.

Carters Dam is in Chatsworth GA, However, its about an hour SOUTH of the Ocoee, BUT, about 35-40 minutes from blue ridge. So those staying in the Cabin wont have much longer of a drive to this comp spot. There is primitive camping very close to Carters Dam. I have to make sure that its even open. Thanks to all who have been patient with me and are still continueing to help me out with this. Didnt see this coming at all...

Colby your doing a GREAT job and I'm here to support you. I don't think no one expected the goverment to shut do or at least stay closed this long. Just don't forget my parts lol:flipoff:

Anyone know if there's any good locations around Parksville lake or maybe Duck town there's got to be some good place close by. I'm sure the locals will chime in here shortly and save the day;-)

Heath,

The Ocoee WWC is so good it is impossible to replace...... Lol

Other places would be a let down to out of town guys

I am going to drive up there Saturday to see if there is a big place to set up HQ near the whitewater center with parking outside the gates.

I agree with Barry. After talking to several others around here, there really isn't another close alternative that would accommodate this many people and parking. It's a bummer, but if we can't find a place along the river, Carter's may be the next best bet.

I will see what I can find though and let you know.

I have a really hard time understanding how there aren't more places to use in East TN. I'm from the Knoxville/Oak Ridge area and have spent a lot of time in the mountains as well. There has to be another location. Is it as "nice" as Ocoee...maybe not, but if there's rocks...I'm down "thumbsup"

There's no way we should have more locations to use for comps here in SC...I'd say 40% or so of our state is "flat"

Nothing at all against BG...but seriously...we drive from SC to OH for Battlegrounds to crawl with 50 other drivers on big rocks piled in the middle of a dirt parking lot basically. We have a great time and will be back again next year 8) If the owners would give the ok...the Northshore location would work just fine...the Ft. Loudon location (if they weren't building the bridge) would work just fine, etc. etc. It's not all about the location...it's about getting all of us together and having a good time "thumbsup"

Harvo...please do go check to see what the situation is up there...some pics of the area just outside the parking lot would probably help us make a decision as a group "thumbsup"

I will"thumbsup"

NS and Louden aren't very close to where you guys (generally speaking) have booked places to stay. I think Colby was trying to keep that a priority?

Right...was just speaking my mind...I've stepped off the soap box again for now...

Carters dam IS open. I think thats one of the best alternatives we have to keep the majority happy if the government shut down doesnt end between now and the comp. Carters is EXTREMELY challenging. Holes, little bit of loose rock, little bit of sand. Its also a beautiful location with plenty of parking and its just about as far from the blue ridge area as the ocoee is. I know thats where the majority are staying. If you guys would be alright with that id say its a pretty good plan B. Will post pics and vids of this location tomorrow for input from everyone. I feel like i should apologise for this, but im not going to. Theres money on the line and its all the governments fault!!!

I'm not politician, and I don't pay very close attention to how things are going with the government typically, but I've been paying more attention recently. This morning it sounded like there may be some movement in the right direction, but it's still a matter of getting majority agreement...

If nothing else...this shutdown is hurting something I know I really enjoy...craft and micro breweries. Without the federal workers to monitor the production of these brews the breweries are unable to produce and bottle their product

My only concern of parking outside of the Whitewater Center and walking past the gates....is trespassing. I don't want to come across that.
