My only concern of parking outside of the Whitewater Center and walking past the gates....is trespassing. I don't want to come across that.

True...the longest shutdown in history was 21 days back when Clinton was in office. Hopefully we aren't trying to break any records with this shutdown and the Ocoee will reopen!!!!!

the comp is going to happen... Its a matter of WHERE. and that WHERE is going to be close enough to the ocoee that it doesnt mess up any travel plans. I have not posted anything that said the comp is a maybe, there will be a comp if we have to go to a walmart parking lot with about 70 fish panels. 300 dollars is on the line for first place... btw

It will cost me about $300 to come down there and comp at a Walmart parking lot is a no go buddy ... I just dont see this one in my future sorry , I loved to come down kick it with ya but I have done been to comps like this and I usually say why did I go ... no offense Colby but I just dont want to think of your first comp like that buddy

However, Plan A is Ocoee whitewater center. Plan B is carters reregulation reservoir. Carters is open, Ocoee is not. If ocoee opens up that is where it will be. If not, carters dam is going to host the 2013 Gettin Southern Showdown and the 2014 GSS will be held at the ocoee, unless enough people like Carters as much as I do "thumbsup"

Carters dam IS open. I think thats one of the best alternatives we have to keep the majority happy if the government shut down doesnt end between now and the comp. Carters is EXTREMELY challenging. Holes, little bit of loose rock, little bit of sand. Its also a beautiful location with plenty of parking and its just about as far from the blue ridge area as the ocoee is. I know thats where the majority are staying. If you guys would be alright with that id say its a pretty good plan B. Will post pics and vids of this location tomorrow for input from everyone. I feel like i should apologise for this, but im not going to. Theres money on the line and its all the governments fault!!!

Carters dam is about 1 hour from Ducktown, Tn.
At least we KNOW it will be open. "thumbsup"
