Food/Cooking

Whats that where one can buy a whole dead cow,pig or goat and refregerate it and consume it as needed? Is it known as cow/pig/goat pulling? I faintly remember that and its way cheaper then buying from a mall.

In the 70's my parents would buy whole beef cows and have them butchered

kept it stored at a cold storage place

Plus the freezer in the garage was packed full

We ate a lot of beef when I was growing up

My parents and my inlaws both buy beef halfs semi regularly. Our local small chain grocery store sells them. Its a pretty decent deal usually end up with quite a bit of beef for considerably cheaper than buying it all seperate

Split Pea and Ham soup.

Ham Hocks
1 lb of ham
1 lb of dried split peas
1 onion
Carrots
Celery
Garlic
Salt
Pepper
Red pepper flakes
Thyme
Bay leaf

Will update this as I go...

Soak peas under water for at least 8 hours.

Score and then submerge ham hocks in water, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.

thinking pork or beef. Ive been using the spicy chicken recipe from a dozen or so pages back so chicken is covered but we have been doing taco Tuesdays lately and while my wife is happy with hamburger tacos from a box I just cant do them so looking for new stuff to try. I did do shrimp marinaded in taco sauce and he turned out awesome

Was that my tinga chicken?

Last night I made it for friends who can't handle the heat and I replaced the jalapeño with a red bell pepper and added 2 tomatoes to the sauce.
I also boiled the chicken and onion with an orange, cloves and a cinnamon stick because I actually had that on the stove trying to add some humidity to our dry ass air.
It was still spicy but not as bad... it smelled really good too.

Did you pay extra for a deconstructed hamburger? That looks disscussssssstinggggggg. Next time try it with mustard instead of catsup. Did you notice you can not get a freshly broiled burger at Burger King anymore. Now they broil them all when they are not busy and throw them in a steam drawer. Let them sit until someone orders it then makes it up "fresh". Burger King will be the next fast food resurant that goes belly up !

Buy one get one. Or also know as BOGO to the tards.

It was good. Enough.

Still tastes the same as when I was 30 years younger, so I don't care how it's made.

Those would be the ones. The wife isn't a fan but my dad and I cant get enough of them. I make them atleast once a week

Same here... I crave them about once a week.
The last 2 batches we ate as tostada's.

Put a layer of refried black beans on a corn tostada shell and then the chicken, grated parmesan cheese, onion, cilantro, lime, sour cream, tomato or whatever.

It's coming out my butt right nah. Finally.

I had a dream a couple days ago about eating a four patty Whopper. I woke up in a huge drool puddle. And yesterday was warm enough to leave my caccoon to take a quick walk to BK. Coupon. No mayo, extra onion. I ate both and liked it. And the nap they, and/or the vodka induced.

I have a friend that works for bk he'll make me anything I want and make it fresh. 3 patty whoppers with king sauce extra onions and cheese are a favorite of mine
