Finally - a 1/10 trophy truck built in the axial yeti

Since this is now going to be driven like a sct instead of rock racer, locked diff is no longer required. Having a open diff in the rear will greatly improve handling and cornering speed.

I put in team associated 100k diff oil in it they are sealed in using axial o-ring listed below.

AXIC1162 Axial O-Ring 5x1mm (10) 1

How did u get the o-rings to stay put? They normally rely on the outdrive cups which are e-clipped in place, to seal the diff. I have an open front in my scx and can't keep the oil inside. I've tried o-rings without success. Care to share? "thumbsup"

Any updates

I competed the suspension and diff tuning. Sorry to keep you guys waiting as I have been waiting my new camera equipments to arrive. I expect to tske delivery of them middle if this week. I spent over $600 on new filming gears for creating the next epic trophy video to share with everyone here. So please stay tuned and I expect video to he up in 1-2 weeks.

I inky had ran it a few times for testing and the oil seems to be holding up pretty good. The o-ring sit in and pushed in place by the spider gears. I use 100k diff oil whih very heavy maybe that's why it hasn't leak yet. I will check it again after a few more run and let you know how well it holds up.

Yes te stock esc is a sidewinder and it take 3s ok just fits watch out for temps. I dialed down the motor timing back to 0 degree and I ran like continuous for a few hours in 3s it seems to be fine. I DJ have the hd gears and open diff in the rear.

Ssd makes a aluminum axle you may want to step up 2. I've been having issues with the stock plastic ones flexing on a stock tune.

Yes man the ssd center axle complete the scale look too. I am waiting for mine to break then order.

Running toe in for any particular reason? Looks like u have a lot and it would be reducing steering response a fair bit.

You got good eyes to catch it. I wanted some camber but the turn buckle still has the plastic and te adjustable one are not here yet. I didn't mind the extra toe in for added straight line stability atbthebcostbofbsteering. Once intake delivery of the metals one the toe in could be adjusted.

Nice video and nice truck. The Yeti works so well as a base for a Trophy truck.

I hope Axial see this, of in fact any other company that currently makes short course trucks and realise there is a market in doing a proper Trophy truck like this.

I am fully aware of axial sees it coz they replied my tweet few days ago. I really hope they will do something to feed the trophy truck market (new kit or conversion kit I am all for it).

Fantastic looking build. What is your rear shock setup in terms of springs and oil?

I'm about to buy a Traxxas Slash 4x4 platinum and do a trophy truck... but I do agree the Yeti looks like a better base for it.

The points the solid rear axle.....
yes, that's why I do agree the yeti is a better base for it, but the slash is just easier mods and very bullet proof right out the box, specially the platinum or the ultimate.

but again, if axial release a trophy truck kit, I'm in. ;-)
