So, after looking at all the mods available to aid front clearance the most common of late is to cut 10mm off the front frame rails and push the front bumper brace further in. Credit: Bigsung Hobbies

I wanted to meet this mod half-way seeing as though I am not a fan of cutting frame rails and avoid closing the door on future routes I may go down. I also prefer to retain the 4 screw mounting as opposed to only 2 screws of the 10mm mod.

What I have done gives 5mm further clearance over the original mounting position but requires the cutting and re-drilling of the front bumper brace however, I am able to move it back to the original mounting position should I so desire…or just use another bumper mount.

Using a Dremel I cut away the front section that sticks out beyond the frame and shaped it the same as the sections that slide in between the rails. The rear part of the brace also needs to be cut and shaped to allow for the first bend in the frame!
Please excuse the very untidy Dremel work as my eye sight is no longer playing the game….time for some bifocals…

As I am using the Ecto front bumper I had to shave off the small 45-degree section near the top to a 90-degree angle to get the bumper to mount flush with the bumper mount/rails.
Other bumpers may or may not require this step depending on the design.
