#12 LC70 Redux, Rock Pirates Interceptor build!

Very pleasing updates!:) Looks so good with the smaller TSL's on it.

Looks more aggressive and meaner! Should do a ton better out on the rocks!

Thanks all! I'll be taking this one and a few others back out to Mt Diablo on the 25th as it should be an awesome turnout and looking forward to meeting others. Just the wheel combo alone gives it the look I want. The Pro-Line Toyos are just a bit too large in scale, at least for this rig.

I agree! After seeing the TSL's on there, the Toyo's do look too big for this body. The Toyo's are a good looking tire and I think they would be a great scale tire if they were smaller in diameter.

Yup I'm with you there.

Low and lean! The TSL's look perfect on there. Love the tow rig setup too.

Appreciate ya sir.

So I forgot a few other pictures that I had as I'm about to update another thread. I attended Amain's crawl at the hatchery in Oroville this past Saturday and one of the employees had the Killerbody LC70 so I had to get a pic with it! (Yes it was raining during show n shine lol)

Very nice! I LOVE the 3 spoke wheels, I'm hoping I can grab a set when Spec RC posts them up..
They seem to do spurts of CNC runs for wheels so just be sure to keep an eye on their IG, then input the model number of these wheels. I had to skip out on their last batch which was their comp line (which has billet rings instead of delrin).

I've been checking, and typically once I see a post made, they're already gone. super sad I missed the odg wheels the other day

Oh yeah bro, their single set of whatever wheels they post go QUICK. You might have to wait until they do another batch run and start taking orders. Past few order windows lasted just a weekend's worth of time.

I didn't know I was going to upgrade this rig more as I like it's performance, but things pop up for sale and you react. With that said, them Rock Pirates folk released a limited run of their Interceptor rails in bronze in collaboration with West Desert Wheeler and I just had to give them more money lol. Landed #9 of 15. Too bad this rig wasn't #9 of my builds or vice versa.

Since this rig will now be a tad bit more special, I couldn't leave the plain Jane plastic Element axles alone. Treal black aluminum axles are on the way as well as some brass from them. And the headlight stickers, even though the look has grown on me overall, I had these Losi Lasernut pod lights laying around and was toying around with how it'd look in place of the headlights. I'll remove the headlight stickers and remove the paint from both sides of the lexan in hopes of having a clear enough lens for these to be glued behind. If I can't get the lexan clear enough, I'll cut the shape of the pods out instead and glue them in place, making them protrude a bit.

Nice score on the RPRC rails. I saw them a few days ago on the Social and thought about trying my luck on getting a set.

Nice idea for the pod lights. Can't wait to see how they look!

Threw in my 4.19 Flub RC prints in the Intercos. This rig is 6.08lbs, and with these inserts it gives the tire a perfect deflated setup. The Treal axles may deflate them a tad more but I think they belong. Even though the stock foams were just fine, at the moment I don't have a true 4.19 lighter-weight rig besides this one and this rig deserves them. What's mostly noticeable right off the bat is, like all the other printed inserts, the nearly absent sidewall roll.

Rails, axles, front brass, headlights and also some tow mirrors installed. Reinstalled the rear SSD brass, as the rear Treal brass is just overkill. The headlights are wired in to function, but I didn't take a picture of them on. But I did get some running footage when I tested out another build so I'll splice together a video for YouTube when the time comes.

The LC70 is looking pretty HOT!! Love the look of those axles!

Nice job on the headlight pods. They look great!!

great looking Rig... the axles look amazing... and all the details and chopping you've done along with the flat rails have really done the look. Great evolution from the beginning of the build to how it sits now.

Thanks for the words gents.

Attended Butte County RC Scalers 8th anniversary meet this past Sunday. Didn't get as many shots as I wanted or footage but some is better than none. Felt pretty good to get some scratches on the Treal axles. And this is technically the first real run I've done with this rig as I didn't run it much at Rock City. I can say this rig doesn't need any refinements. Maybe 10w+ on the shocks but they are fine as is.

Enjoy the short video!
