deal to good to be true 1/6 jimny

I just received the Mashigan Frt/Rr spring sets. They measure very close to 6" of course I haven't tried to fit them yet.
But they do seem close. Wonder if they offer a frame pre-drilled ? Be of interest to me.
Possibly the Jimny frame might work ?
Or have all those gone the way of the link suspension too ?
Guess I'll need to drill the frame rails on this MB.
Guess I was hoping to have two separate chassis frames.
In case I wished to go back to the link suspension or messed up drilling.

I'm gonna need invest in those alloy C-hubs / S. knuckles too.
They offer the C hubs for the rear axle too ?

I'm pretty sure all the holes are there already but I could be wrong

I think you're right. The leaf springs simply bolt on to the undercarriage plastic supports,
and they are what is actually bolted to the frame.
I've been way over thinking this install all along !
I'll bet those plastic under supports don't survive too long though !?
But now I just need to take it all apart. A feat in of itself
I'll likely take my time over the winter as I'll be trapped indoors for the most part.
I'll most probably drive it now (as is) just to test it and be sure it functions out the box )

It's saposed to be a bolt in mod and I just can't see a company making different frame rails for different models

And since the Willy's is shown in the pictures with ether leafs or links I would assume that the same frame is used on all there rigs in that general scale

I have the Jimny and Willys, and I'll have a look. Edit: each has its own frame. The front and back of the willys is narrower. The jimny frame is straight. No bends. I think that is why I was going to buy a second one, but missed out on the jimny when it was $79 T-case on the jeep offset, not on the jimny. W/B is about 3/4 difference.

Interesting
The willies uses the same tcase and the drive train parts are the same at least from the parts list online but I guess the question is dose the willys and the mashigan use the same frame

Gosh I'll have to hope so or I've squandered $ 60.00

Aliexpress has a leaf spring conversion
kit for the front t or back for the mashigan.
The whole kit looks to be made for a straight frame

Guessing but I believe that's the one I purchased to convert my willy's back to a leaf sprung suspension. Guess I'll know more when I tear it all apart.
Regardless I still have my SCX6 for some real off road wheelin' ;-)
I bought '41 Willy MB on a hope it could be converted and made to function using a leaf spring suspension. But I likely wasted my money as it will likely be no simple bolt on procedure.
Oh well. it still looks cool even if I can't make it happen.

I got some run time the rear driveshaft kept coming undone nothing a little lock tight won't fix but I didn't have any with me so I'll do that tonight the only other problem is with how I installed the axle the plastic u bolt plate isent strong enuff to clamp the axle solid so I'm gonna have to make some aluminum ones the axle was raping when the back wheels bound up
The up side the tire have really good grip with the foams removed I really like them especially on this rig

Kool deal ! At least we know it can !? but for how long ? Lol

Still running those stock skinny military tires ?
I'd would have thought you wouldn't keep those too much longer.
So without the foam inserts they work much better with traction ?
Hmm I may need remove mine too.
I thought about running different wheels/tires eventually.
But first I got to get this thing up and running anywhere as it stands. Lol
I'm hopping that alloy servo horn and the alloy C-hubs/S-Knuckles lets me drive it,
before it breaks again !?
I haven't even been outside with my Willy's yet.

Ya those tires got it done more than enuff traction for that rig with the foams removed I did Finnish a hole trail with it and parts of a few more but once ingot in to the heavy rocks then rear axle started slipping around and screw inside the driveshaft kept coming out
The only thing that broke was the role bar but I expected that based on the you tube videos I watched so no surprise there I'll most likely make one out of stainless tubing down the road
There's some kind of clicking ether from the axles or the trans or tcase but what ever I'll fix that some time later lol probably just replace all that junk anyway but time will tell lol
Anyway it's a fun rig to drive and it's ready for today lol

interesting. Only a single (main leaf) was utilized ?
Yeah I'd think it would need at least two. One additional leaf to support the main leaf.
But that's just my opinion.
Glad it's working for you better now.
Be interesting to learn what's causing this clicking noise.
It's likely to occur with mine as well.
So i'll stay tuned until you complete your investigation.
Inquiring minds have a need to know !? Lol
