deal to good to be true 1/6 jimny

Good to know Thank You !
I was mostly concerned about moisture and rusting.
Do you know if these are made from stainless steel ?

I don't see that in the description.
All I see is a blue seal and not a complete set ?
And a taller cost for 10 bearings when I will use only 2 ?
Is not a complete set. That I see.

About 3 months ago I installed all new bearing on my 1/8 scale from good reviews AliExpress shops, went to the beach with the crawler and I did not see any rust "yet"

Yes most size RC bearings come in 5 or 10 piece set, so that's OK for me as I just keep them for next year's or so

I found a ton of leaf springs on Ali Express but their measurement descriptions
are generally useless or not definitive. Like even the measurement lengths.
And generally just claim they fit 1/10th scale RC's. Generic at best.

Can I just assume the link offered by ferp420 (Mashigan) are the correct lengths Awfully pricey to find out other wise ?

ferp420 did you have a chance to measure the length of the leaf springs on your Jimny as of yet ?
Not that the description will help me much, seeing they generally leave out details or descriptions. But I have found a few that list the lengths @ 100mm.

I think I'll have to pull the trigger on those Mashigan Jeep leaf springs and hope that they can be fitted on my Willy's MB !?

Or do nothing.

I'm also contemplating the bearing set linked also by ferp420.
I'd liked to get this ordered because I know shipping will be rather slow.
And I'd hope to be finished with this by Christmas or next year !

Sorry for hijacking / cluttering your build thread ferp420

The springs are 6 inches long
The aftermarket spring hangers match the holes already in the frame so you might be able to get away with a cheap spring kit you would need some allthread and some spring plates the spring plates can just be flat peice of metal or plastic to to hold the Ubolts on to the axle the ones in the kit are plastic
If you don't mind making the spring plates you could save a bunch of money any way here's some pics of the aftermarket spring hangers from the cheap leaf spring kit

^ I'm mostly concerned about finding the correct leaf spring length.
I have found some springs FS describing them as being 100mm in length.
But yours are nearer to 150mm in length if I'm correct in my conversion from mm to inches.
Unless those leaf springs for the Mashigan Jeep or FJ Cruiser are in fact 6" long ?
Problem is they don't detail what length they are ? that I see.
So I can't be sure. I'm not too concerned about the hardware for mounting them.
As the hardware could likely be made or sourced elsewhere !?
The leaf spring length will likely be the most critical measurement-production.
And with the lack regarding details I can't be sure.
The Chinese guy (@ ROCHobbes) I'm chatting with is really of little-no help regarding any specifications - details.

I watched these two videos v but they seem to be lacking in some important details.

But gives me some clues (information) regarding.

But this talk about purchasing another chassis has me at my wits end with an ever draining pocket book.

Not so sure that I can pull this off without spending another small fortune on it ?
And seeing this RC is of toy quality !? I'm not so sure it would be worth the price of admission !?
But the bottom line is money is of little issue.
But would prefer buying a bolt on kit incase I need source repair parts in the future.

The leafs are pretty long I'm not having any luck finding the 150mm springs I would ask someone who has a mashigan what there spring length is
When you have it in your hands you will know more

So yer thinking is that the Masigan Jeep Leaf springs are the same length as yours ?
I think I'll pull the trigger on those then.
Seeings I already have them in my cart. And it's likely the shipping will take days to arrive.
Besides I have other crap in my cart as well.
Like the bearing set, canvas top and the axle skid plates (inked susp).
I screwed up though because I had the leaf sprung skid plate in my cart initially.
But removed that when I came to realize this had a linked suspension. And now I can't find that one again.
Prolly another $ 125. spent in China ! on a toy ?

motor and over sized battery tray ? think those are included in my original MB purchase ?

order placed ! Dell out.

Nice bumper altercation. Definitely not going hang up on everything in its path !
Hope it's as strong as it was in original form.
(tho' it might have never been strong) Lol
What adhesive ?

I used plastruct plastic weld and did a little reinforcing but just in case I'll back it with jb weld
I left some tabs that were part of the original reinforcements on the bumper i reused them to support the part I cut off and reattach the job weld will fill the gaps and lock everything in place
In my opinion it's gonna be stronger than it was originally

Now the Chinese seller has a link screw up for their bearing set !
I know because I already made purchase, an in verification it was something else. An Anti Tank gun / trailer or some chit.

Think I'm gonna purchase these from Fast Eddy when my Willy's shows up.
I'll need the instr. manual to verify the bearing sizes first.
The tracking says the Willy's MB is being delivered today by FEDEX.
But I really can't be sure !?

You reinforced it using dowels or supports in the plastic ?
Or underneath it ?
But I'll believe that it'll be stronger then it was originally.

Looking good "thumbsup"

I didn't trust the knuckles the steering arm never seems to be happy attached to the knuckle so
I bought the aluminum ones for the mashigan they are almost exactly the same as the plastic ones even down to the panhard mount on the knuckle lol

I think this one is ready for the fire poor thing won't ever look the same after lol
