Hey guys! I know I'm far over due for some threads, so here is my start. On this build I'd like to thank Marc at chaotic, my man winner at Custom Fiber, 89redranger ( you da man), EY designs and Creation Fab. There will be other " hats off to" later on in the thread! So, let's get started!

I couldn't be more new to this class so most of what you will see is far from ground breaking. My front axle will be the first of it's kind but it's just a new way to skin a cat. Here you can see I'm using the delrin version. Marc was cool enough to sell me the last set of carbon cab pieces a few weeks ago.

Again, this is my first thread. Best to stop here for now to see how big the pics are coming through. Thanks for checking the very start out and there will be more to come in a day or so:)

First thing I had to do is some dremel engineering. Specs on what was done to the trans and what motor are coming. But I had to clearance the chassis for the spur. At 5 feet it looks like chaotic made it that way so I'll take it:)

Very nice start man! Thanks for the kind words. Can't wait to see where this goes. Other than getting you a set of steel trans lockers yet, you ought to be set. Just in case, I've got a few trans goodies here saved with your name all over them...one way or another, this rig ought to come home with trophies.

Here's to a problem free build, happy trails, and many wins! "thumbsup"

BTW, lovin the Dremel mods on the chassis. Can't be afraid to bust out the power tools now and then. With an eye for detail like yours, you can't go wrong...

Thanks bud. The clearance for the spur went well. Really turned out clean. Winner really has me fired up the last couple days. I need to get back to painting soon but these threads are mandatory this time. Have to promote the cats doing all this sweet work:)

Next we have some details on the trans. Nothing crazy but a very cool motor I was sent to test out. An Extreme 380. Really looking forward to running this all season to really get a feel for it. The trans has 14/62 gearing with an aluminum HR spur. Some fresh new bearings on the top shaft and we are good to go. A very special thanks to 89redranger for help in this department.

Also have some pics of the trans mounted and carbon cab plates installed. That will be it for the night. If anything, check the berg or sporty section. I've got a lot of work to do there as well:)

Nice! Another guy in the 1.9 section :)

Hopefully the world will get the 1.9 fewer, starting comps all over!

It will never work! (It doesn't have any axles on) :)

Top notch dremel work brutha! Very smooth shaping..

So what's inside the tranny!? You only gave outside specs.. Red said about finding steel tranny gears for you? Does it have HR inside? All stock?

I'm with Red, can't wait to see this rig on the podium!

Right now the trans is all stock, though, somebody did glue the outdrives into the plastic locker (not me, but not a bad idea, should help it last a little while longer). Crawllife was limited on time, and I didn't have the parts to sell on hand at the time. We really need to get him a set of steel LOCKERS though (Losi #LOSB1435, or Vaterra #VTR212028 ), not gears. If he ends up having gear troubles I've got an HR intermediate and a spare lower waiting.

For sure on the trans Troy. I need some work in there. All stock for now. I'm hoping to get some practice and a comp or 2 before they blow up. We will see:). Thanks for the motivation guys!

He will need that HR idler, after the first 5 mins on the rocks.. cause I'll be test driving it, to see how it handles!;)

Edit: off to the parts bin I go.....

Well, sounds like Winner is gonna take care of this one BEFORE carnage ensues. Then again, Crawllife promised me carnage pics...

We knew it'd happen sooner or later, just wanted to get him on the rocks BEFORE the beginning of the season.

Oh NO!, carnage first... Then upgrades. :)

But hopefully the carnage is before season starts. Cause I won't jeopardize his crawling with out the Needed upgrades to the tranny.

Now I have Never even thought of this, nor went to seek it out as a option.. but... My man David, thru his hard work (and me wanting to see him hit the podium), deserves what's needed to make it there!

Just for you...

And I got an HR intermediate to join it if you don't. Sounds like you guys are located fairly close. One way or another, David will be killin it this season.

Don't have a spare of the HR laying around, so ur the hook up on that..

We are 2-3hrs away from eachother, but comp together for the 2 "local" clubs. Haha, I called the club's local!

I travel 1.5-4.5hrs to comp(each way).. the average travel is 2.5hrs.. (for me)

We comp with mrccrackhead and chris-martell as well.

1 Fine group of rc addicts, is what we are! lol...

Awesome David.

Welcome to the obsession.

One of a kind axle???? Interesting...

Ya buddy! I will have what is the first of many we hope. Chris at creation fab has been as cool to me mr Dlux with building my stuff as a noob. Now that I'm rapping my noodle around this stuff, I asked him to give me winners steering and xr/wraith parts without the crazy axle sheath stuff that was previously required. He came up with an adaptor for the end of a standard 1.9 axle that excepts vp chubs and knuckles. I'm super stoked to test them out. I'll post a teaser pic tomorrow :)

Ok, here it is! Minus the steering/drag of course but I'm too amped!! Parts list tomorrow or Friday but I just couldn't wait to show you guys:)

Looks good buddy. From what I've heard, the trick to these things is to make them weigh about 1.5lbs more than your pro rig. Lol.

Excited to see this and all your forthcoming build threads man.

On to the rear axle. It's actually here so I should have posted about it before the front but here we go.

Ok, rear axle has stock mounts shaved with BWD link/shock installed. Shimmed ring and pinion using associated shims. Aluminum beef tubes compliments of 89redranger. They come in at 1/4"X .035" and 28mm long.
