If the widths are crazy different then I'll address it for sure. Luckily my club has been huge into this class for a long time. If there are little tips and tricks that I miss, I've got a great group to lean on. I will post lengths of the front when she gets here. I'm hoping by Saturday or Monday:)

I'm the lucky guy that gets to test out the new Creation Fab xr/1.9 axle on this build. It just came today and I'm thrilled! Solid, clean and everything we've come to expect from Chris. Specs are in a thread here in the 1.9 section. That way I'm just not copying his words. Please check it out!

I will say that mine uses plastic xr chubs, vp wraith knucks, modded xr shafts and Traxxas pinion OD mod. Just very very clean!

It's nice to have it laid out and almost looking like a rig. The shocks in the foreground are 3racing aluminum 1/16 shocks. They are super smooth but the use the " pop on" install method. Don't have tons of confidence in that but if I can secure them better, I'll be using them.

3mm screws with nitro fuel tube would secure them bad boys!

I haven't had much issue with the pop on style.. I keep a good Eye on them tho. ;)

Not super pretty but I dumped a lot of loot into electronics this season. This is a decased fxr and 10 amp bec plastidiped. No idea where it's going at this point but it's the plan:)

A little tire/wheel stuff. Both of my new sponsors ( custom fiber and EY designs) have contributed tires to this build. EY has a sick set of 1.9 voodoos coming by weeks end. Troy actually gifted me these 4" rovers at the end of last season.
On wheels, I wanted to save $. Most of the guys I know run .5 up front and .75 out back. So with axial 1.9's coming I'm at .75, perfect way to get 2 sets of wheels for the price of one. I had the axials in plastic for seasons. I didn't get them all done today but these are 4" rovers on axials and the front will have the rovers on .5 dlux delrin wheels. I will then do the same routine with the mini voodoos. I also picked up a set of carbon faces from Erik but I'm saving them for now. The delrin is heavier and while I'm new to this class, I believe that little bit of weight may help. All trial and error right now. I did pick up the vp wheels with weights but they just scream broken axle shafts or gears to me. They will look cool if I 1.9 my wraith;)

Nice build so far buddy! I wouldn't worry about the "pop-on" rod ends near as much as the M2 rod ends on the other end of the shock. While the stock RTR plastic shocks are notorious for breaking the top caps in this location, I have yet to experience this with after market OR Losi branded billet MRC shocks. The M2 threads at the base of the shock shaft are what you should really be keeping an eye on, and will leave you with a 3-legged rig.

A quick little trick, put a dab of blue loctite (not a d@mn puddle, I know you know better) on the threads of the shock shaft before threading them on. Ever since I've started doing this on my own rigs, shock rod end suicide rates have dropped in half... "thumbsup"

So I'm waiting on potential parts from EY designs. I was lucky to get this hard to find mount from rcbros. That is a huge thanks to Custom Fiber for his generosity.

This is the start of mock up. We will see if I can exchange the parts out from EY when they arrive.

I'm also waiting on mini voodoos from EY Designs. These are my other option for the season. Mounted up on .5 delrin dlux wheels. 4" rovers from Winner:)

Mock up is going pretty well. Thanks to another bud, any link issues I'm having will be solved Saturday. Still going to get the steering link BTA or OTA and may do something with the front uppers. They will stay if I get the steering link right. Why this particular 4 link/ servo mount is not used or replicated more frequently is a mystery to me. EY will be providing the permanent parts very soon. I'm grateful to Winner for the in between help. I drive with some good guys. It will hurt me deeply to beat them this season;). Lol

I think I may have gotten lucky with my mock up steering link. Slides pretty good above the MIPS. Just going to take a look at shocks and call it a day:)

Unless I get a 3rd wind, this is it fir the day. I'm anxious to see the 4" rovers on tho.
A bit of tech: 3 racing shocks. Shined up a bit. Red mini T springs but no need for jeepin Doug cups. I will try to find them for the mrc pro shock but I don't think that will be an easy task. Winner may be the only guy I know with them. All 4 limited 4mm. The front is out boarded and the rear has the bwd L and S mounts. The link lines fell exactly where I wanted them with the limiting. The only down side from today I'd the mock up link is a flop with the shocks mounted. The final link will have to be much deeper. Like almost hitting the slope of the female shaft. Then I'll be able to take advantage of these killer Creation Fab xr adapters. Before I replace the link, I'll put a set of tires on to show how sweet the steering is now. But it's capable of so much more!!

Quick mention of 20wt oil to go with these red springs feels great on the bench. The rcbros knuckle weights may have me making some changes there:)

Looking really good I haven't seen those 1.9's on the rocks since nationals. They faded away in our club.

I'm curious to see how you like the height of the 4" rovers. I have mixed feelings about the extra height after using them for a couple of comps and switched back to stock height rovers.

I ran the 4" rovers for awhile, never did perform as good as the stock ones did. They just aren't as stable being that tall for the little cars.
