Crawl Space's Isuzu Amigo Class 1 build (STRC)

Panhard mount looks slick! I'll post up pics later.

Phoned up Eddie at the CI compound today and decided on some 4.25" lil' novas with soft outers for front and rear "thumbsup"

Also picked up some tail lights that will work nicely with the body - gonna have to sand and re-paint a bit. see pics below...

FYI the square axial light buckets will fit into the headlight of those bodies. That's what I did with the Brat to give it headlights.

Are you referring to the cow-bell shaped light buckets? Would you mind posting a couple close up pics inside/outside the brat?

On the inside of the body there is a bumper mount screw post right behind the lens. I might have to fab my own custom bucket out of styrene if the axial bucket doesn't fit.

I didn't have that bumper mount.

Here are the pics though

Cool, thanks for posting those pics - the buckets seem to fit well. However, it looks like the headlights on the amigo are a bit larger than those on the brat. I may end up cutting down some TF2 lenses to fit and build my own light buckets out of styrene.

Got CI foams from Eddie that will go in soon! I want to do a benchmark crawl first that shows climb angle and sidehill performance.

The Bongsten CMS is done! I get plenty of steering lock to lock and minimal if no bump-steer as far as I can tell.

With these short wheel bases you need to run full droop. They sit too high and roll over easy.

Looks sweet though and I love the CMS. I want it on mine!

Thanks! Yes, it does roll over easily as you'll see in the video I shot with Bongsten on thanksgiving. The body has been mounted temporarily with magnets on modified body posts, though I am thinking of changing to or adding Velcro. I mocked up the body a little more rearward to center the wheel arches better over the wheels and moved it down as close as I can to the chassis to lower the COG.

Seems to work just fine for light trailing, though I haven't had a chance to put it through the paces yet. It's the only servo I have that maxes out at 6v so we'll see how it holds up to some tough crawling.

It did great man. Needs lowered a bit, but awesome. We should gtg on the weekend and cruise a bit.

For sure. I'm in the process of lowering the body and re-mounting it so it's centered over the wheel wells. I had to remove the inner window plastic to get the mounting spot I wanted in the front. I may end up doing a full interior with a clear windshield and windows.

However, once I get the new body mounts in I can just trim the part of the window plastic that interfered with the new mount location and re-install the window piece. That'l get me back on the trail temporarily "thumbsup"

What is your schedule for December? I'm free most Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays this month.
