Colorado Rally Championship 2012

Looking forward to this. What are the chances of water/snow on the track. I don't mind a little, but as you guys know, I really don't like it. Just wanting to know what to expect. Thanks "thumbsup"

You don't like water, or water doesn't like you?...Sorry Todd, I couldn't resist :ror:

So I'm assuming dirt tires? I know from my rally session with Grizz, that street tires are only good for 100% pavement.

We are going to try and keep it some what dry. standing water will be swept off the track during the day and before the start, but I have no idea what the weather will be like and we don't know the track layout yet, so its a little iffy.

Your guess is as good as mine. I have three different types of tires for my rally car I was going to bring them all. :ror: I think Rodney has the best tires for the event, but he is the only one I know that has them in this state.

I'm running hpi pirellies....don't want to tear the edges off my blocks, the pirellies have never let me down before. Luckily a freind had a new set that the bead got a little butchered, luckily I've glued a few sets of tires and the mounting went well as of yet................now to fins a dry parking lot to practice in......but looking outside my car had fresh snow on it....crap

It depends on the weather.......

bought me some HPI X Patterns for this upcoming race. hopefully they work out good enough. dont wanna tear up my new tamiya blocks. also would you recommend keeping higher ground clearance for this rally? just wondering if the jumps are gonna be huge or just mild ones. got to get to tuning!

Standard belly clearance that you run at the dirt track should be fine, you could even go a little lower.

Event update:

Rodney and I checked out the location today and it is looking really good. We know it is suppose to be cold outside and possibly snow saturday. However I will guarantee you will want to be at this event. I highly recommend you bring tarmac tires, you don't have to run them, but guarantee you wish you did.

For approved tires please see the first post.

Rodney or I will post up the address friday sometime. I can tell you now it is in the Denver metro area.

Also we will be getting pizza delivered to the location, so if you want food bring 5 dollars.

I hope you guys are ready it is going to be a fun track. "thumbsup"

:twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::lol::lol::lol::afro::afro::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen: lets do this!

I don't have much experience on tarmac. I used to race touring cars but that was 10-12 years ago......and I wasn't all that good. :ror:

More then I've got. I tried it once a few weeks ago, but on a smaller scale.

I've got two different sets of onroad tires that are on the approved list, should be a good time. "thumbsup"
