Colorado Rally Championship 2012

not sure if its still painted but their is the outdoor track for the corrc guys in the parking lot off quail and colfax

Right now it looks like we are shooting for February 11th.

Filed in the tentative schedule.

(edit) I was thinking of this over the weekend and it would be cool to do a rally in the evening after dark. What's the point in having cool lights mounted if you can't really use them :ror: Just a thought.

It gets kind of cold in Colorado during February, once the sun goes down.

Hyuk hyuk :)

I was thinking one of the later races in the CRC series. Only problem would be finding a place that has enough light for the rest of us, either that or we bring a bunch of blinding halogens and run up someone's electrical bill.

There is a rally track up here?

Gary was saying there is a RC track up there we might be able to use. Going to try to make it up there some time this week/weekend and check it out.

Rodney and I were talking a little while ago about doing a couple over the summer around 8 or 9pm out at HOON 470."thumbsup"

I bought a light pod for my rally car a couple weeks ago in preparation.

Keep the Springs track in mind. I think there is potential as long as the guy who runs it lets us make a track next to the short-course track. There could be a mix of tarmac and dirt :).

That'd be great! I've only met him once (a couple of years ago) but he seems like a really nice guy. He was at the rally rock-cross LWBSami put on but I didn't get a chance to talk to him.

I was thinking of the south track for the Mini's and just to the west of the track there is a group of trees. That would be the place to build a little rally course. From there we could have it zig-zag to the tarmac and maybe even a straight on the way back to open our cars up a little bit .

Even if we don't have a comp there, it would be nice to have a place close buy to get out for a couple hours.

Take a look on RCShortCourse Colorado Hills Bash Session - RCShortCourse.com Bulletin Board.
There is some more pics but can't get into Skid's PB album to post them.

I don't see a track...Are you sure this isn't some kind of airport or something??

My theory is.... R/C cars are more enjoyable launching them up in the air and trying to get some alltitude.

... and airplanes are more enjoyable losing alltitude and smashing into the ground. :ror: Crazy how that works out

its definetely funny how that works out...def true though

Here is the GoPro video. i have to apologist for the shaky camera work. Too much coffee, not enough sleep & bad camera mount are to blame. I ran it trough the video stabilizer twice and it still came out shaky. there still some cool shots enjoy!!!:)
