Hello everyone. Where would be the best place to sell a custom crawler? I have it listed on bookface but I know it isn't the ideal place to list it. I cant seem to locate a classified section here.. Thank you for any info.
You have to have at least 30 posts, or you can pay to be a contributor and gain access to it immediately

I'm not getting the vibe spamming threads to get the 30 posts is going to be noticed...admin are not very active in this forum.
I think the mods are more active here than you think. And most of the old school crew will report it if the mods don't catch it.
It's seriously frowned upon here, those rules are in place for a reason.
No rules if you just pay...that bothers me more than the rules lol.
I get why the rules/stars/things are a thing lol. Just chatting.
Edit - just noticed the 'not free to exist' comment. You all don't receive any revenue from the vendors that advertise on the site? Pretty sure that 'membership' fee is a diminishing return, new traffic on these forums isn't what it was in the heyday of forum life.
Not trying to be negative or anything, I just thing you have to be careful how you present that argument. I've spent a small fortune on vendors that advertise in this forum so I feel that is a tangible contribution. I may eventually 'pay the dues' but I'm not sold on the forum yet...it's good, don't get me wrong. That's just an investment. And if you search Google you get the same results even if you don't have a profile if the 'wealth of knowledge' is the selling point.
I wish the forum had a chat box...that would be next level lol. When they removed it from another group I am in about 60% of the forum bailed out. Guys get tired of creating threads just to talk about things.
/Rant over. Sorry if that comes across as entitled/negative/uppity, not intended.
Cheers

I don’t have the 30 post yet but I’m curious is there a way of recognizing reputable sellers or a method of recognition for a great deal when it happens?

I’m a member in around half a dozen forums last I counted...maybe more haha. Kind of hard to pick/choose what I’ll pay for on the internet...it’s the internet. I appreciate all of the access/posting ability but I have been burned badly in the past paying money to forum owners just to have them close or ruin the site...it happens quite a bit these days. And this forum (elephant in the room) needs some serious updating, so not really sure where that money goes. Again, that sounds bad...but it is what it is.

the issue is facebook has ruined the forum as it has "groups"
I used to frequent a bunch of other forums but facebook made those obsolete even though its a horrible platform. the phot bucket debacle also was a huge issue as a bunch of tech from my 1:1 crawler sites disappeared forever. I would much rather support a forum that I enjoy and view my subscription as renting my good times?
does that make sense?
That makes sense.
I guess I'm not sure why anyone cares if I pay or not, there are a lot of guys that don't, and I haven't climbed up on a soapbox over it. I have opinions about guys that do pay, but I keep them to myself because they are just opinionsNot knowing how much the owners of this forum are paying to host it makes it pretty much a moot point, there's a lot of ambiguity in "keeping the lights on".
