Hello everyone. Where would be the best place to sell a custom crawler? I have it listed on bookface but I know it isn't the ideal place to list it. I cant seem to locate a classified section here.. Thank you for any info.

You have to have at least 30 posts, or you can pay to be a contributor and gain access to it immediately

Thank you for the info[emoji106]

No problem, I should note.. they need to be realistic posts. Not just a bunch of random posts on everyone’s builds saying nice truck. There’s a sticky about it up at the top of this category if I’m not mistaken.
* edit it’s a sticky in the newbie general section.

I'm not getting the vibe spamming threads to get the 30 posts is going to be noticed...admin are not very active in this forum.

I think the mods are more active here than you think. And most of the old school crew will report it if the mods don't catch it.

It's seriously frowned upon here, those rules are in place for a reason.

No rules if you just pay...that bothers me more than the rules lol.

That's understandable to see it that way, I think it works though because the rules are designed to keep scammers out of the Buy/Sell so I think putting up a pay wall accomplishes that..

A scam artist is not likely to spend money to scam someone out of money...hence why that is in place. The purchase of the star is what the keeps the lights on here, its not free for RCC exist. It also allows you to upload pics directly and have an avatar etc. Supporting the site is important these days. There is a lot of history here and knowledge which is priceless.

I get why the rules/stars/things are a thing lol. Just chatting.

Edit - just noticed the 'not free to exist' comment. You all don't receive any revenue from the vendors that advertise on the site? Pretty sure that 'membership' fee is a diminishing return, new traffic on these forums isn't what it was in the heyday of forum life.

Not trying to be negative or anything, I just thing you have to be careful how you present that argument. I've spent a small fortune on vendors that advertise in this forum so I feel that is a tangible contribution. I may eventually 'pay the dues' but I'm not sold on the forum yet...it's good, don't get me wrong. That's just an investment. And if you search Google you get the same results even if you don't have a profile if the 'wealth of knowledge' is the selling point.

I wish the forum had a chat box...that would be next level lol. When they removed it from another group I am in about 60% of the forum bailed out. Guys get tired of creating threads just to talk about things.

/Rant over. Sorry if that comes across as entitled/negative/uppity, not intended.

Cheers

all good bud... we'll leave it at that

I don’t have the 30 post yet but I’m curious is there a way of recognizing reputable sellers or a method of recognition for a great deal when it happens?

Most sellers are pretty reputable, as far as knowing you’re getting a good deal.. that comes with experience. Know what you’re looking at, and what it costs. Most people are pretty straight shooters around here. But for those that aren’t, that’s what the feedback section is for. Of course if you have a negative experience, it’s best to try n work it out with the seller before bashing them publicly

Not sure I'm understanding your problem with buying a star? You seem to enjoy your time spent on the site and I bet have benefited from info shared. Like it was said above the membership star is "what helps keep the lights on". And as far as venders benefiting, I have been paying $100 a year for my Blue star for the last 7 years. Just my 2 cents. And not trying to start something, just pointing out what I think is right. "thumbsup"

My point was that the annual membership fee isn’t the only revenue stream in this forum. And never said I have a ‘problem’ with paying for looking at this forum, thinking you read a little more into my comments than I intended.

You don’t even have to create an account to read the forum content and Google is actually better at searching that the forum’s engine.

I enjoy this forum, and I support it buy buying things from the people that pay to advertise in it.

Edit: I just read my own comment and it sounds a little snarky...there’s no easy way to put it without sounding like an ass I don’t think.

I’m a member in around half a dozen forums last I counted...maybe more haha. Kind of hard to pick/choose what I’ll pay for on the internet...it’s the internet. I appreciate all of the access/posting ability but I have been burned badly in the past paying money to forum owners just to have them close or ruin the site...it happens quite a bit these days. And this forum (elephant in the room) needs some serious updating, so not really sure where that money goes. Again, that sounds bad...but it is what it is.

Cheers

the issue is facebook has ruined the forum as it has "groups"

I used to frequent a bunch of other forums but facebook made those obsolete even though its a horrible platform. the phot bucket debacle also was a huge issue as a bunch of tech from my 1:1 crawler sites disappeared forever. I would much rather support a forum that I enjoy and view my subscription as renting my good times?

does that make sense?

I guess I'm not sure why anyone cares if I pay or not, there are a lot of guys that don't, and I haven't climbed up on a soapbox over it. I have opinions about guys that do pay, but I keep them to myself because they are just opinions :) Not knowing how much the owners of this forum are paying to host it makes it pretty much a moot point, there's a lot of ambiguity in "keeping the lights on".

There's certainly something to be said for not having to use Facebook to participate in a community. That place is a cess pool.

You claim that you are keeping your opinions to yourself but the part of your statement that I highlighted makes you sound like an arrogant prick... :lmao:

Not saying that you ARE one, just that you sound like one.

Pretty certain that members here that do pay would agree with that, as well.

Whenever you fell like stepping down of that soapbox, go right ahead!

I don't care that you aren't paying, not one bit - but when you aren't paying yet are making so many posts about paying in this thread, you are really being confusing.

Just don't pay, continue using the site, and don't make comments like these in threads like this.

You obviously already qualify for using the Classifieds yourself!
