CLASSIFIEDS - A How To Guide

made 30 posts took 3yrs does it take a bit to see the for sale section

Id say it took 2 :flipoff:

Also meaningful posts are like this here, its a tidbit of info: informative or helps the thread.

Not a post like

"Cool." or "Nice" "thumbsup"

Also, after you hit 30 days and 30 posts it is not instant to see the classifieds.

classifieds

I can't look at anything for sale in the classifieds until I make 30 posts and have been a member for 30 days? really? I can't post a picture of my scx10 or look for improvements in the classifieds. This kind of seems like you want all the noobies to buy from the venders first? just my thoughts.. I have already learned a lot from "lurking" on other peoples threads anyway. the 30 days part is reasonable but I don't now if waiting for a new guy to make 30 "USEFULL post is a good way to discriminate. I understand trying to keep scammers at bay but at what cost. I want to buy stuff for my scx10 so now I have to buy a star?

If you want to buy stuff for your scx10, then go buy that from other places then. it seems like your more worried about getting cheaper stuff than helping out this forum......
This isn't a speedway to sell and buy, it's a place to share info and ideas. Hell you don't need to buy a star, just be informative with sharing info like tips and tricks or asking legitimate question AFTER using the search button. And it's not discriminating, we're just making sure to keep at bay who just want to buy and sell.

As a newbi, I kinda agree with at least half his sentiments. I just bought my first buggy. Maybe I would have bought one of your used ones if I had known about it. Isn't that good for you guys too? I'm doing a lot of buying right now because I'm new and I need everything. I don't see how anyone benefits from your not being able to sell to me.

I think we should be able to see and buy from classifieds but not sell. That would keep opportunists off who are just looking to make some bucks.

I thought about it this way. I probably saved 20 bucks on my first purchase from the classifieds so its nothing but uphill after that.

The buying also plays in because people have came in and bought and then when they get it, they say something is wrong and then they get their money back and you lose it and your item

I guess that could happen. But scammers who expect to make money off this are just the people who would pay $20 to get the opportunity to score. So your rationale should apply to "stars" too.

I'm not gonna throw a fit. If that's what people want then so be it. But I think on balance it hurts members more than helps. Hey...I could be wrong. I think I was once.

Most scammers are cheapskates and lazy to boot. Have there been people who purchased stars and ripped people off? Sure, its really rare but its happened, but there are many more who just go somewhere else where they'll have an easier time doing it. It is a deterrent, not a foolproof or guaranteed plan.
