Choosing a motor and ESC for your Wraith - Gearing Added!

What sought of performance could i get from these combo's> roc412 2300kv on 2s(17,020rpm) or roc412 3100kv on 2s(22,940rpm), i searched the thread but every one is mostly running 3s but ill be only running 2s.

Hello friends.

I`m looking for quality ESC / motor setup for Wraith - my dream setup is Tekin RS GEN2 + Tekin 13.5T motor, but I am from Czech republic and not only there, but in whole Europe is mission impossible to buy Tekin stuff. Yes, I can order it from US, but high 21% VAT + appx. 5% TAX + administration fees killed this options. Grrrrr.
Second choice is Castle which is possible to buy without any problem. ESC will be Castle Mamba Max Pro ( 3s and 2s batteries ) as recommended on first page ( is it this one ? Castle Creations | Mamba Max Pro 1/10th Scale Power Systems ) but I need a help with motor. I read this thread, but I cannot find any Castle motor recommendation. Can anybody help me to find proper motor, please ( could be other brand, but no Tekin  ) ? I do not want to buy some Chinese crap.
I want to use Wraith for 80% bashing, 20% light crawling, because I have modified Venom Creeper as pure crawler and Traxxas E-Revo as pure beast ( both on great Tekin stuff directly from US, because 2 years ago was not restriction for nonEU import to Czech )

Last question. Will Mamba ESC fit Wraith without any modification ?

Many thanks for Your answers.

Looking to buy a motor this week, can anyone offer an opinion on the above question?

Both are smooth running motors when running them sencored. The 3100kv is a faster motor then the 2300kv. The rule is: the higher the KV rating the faster the motor is. The lower the KV. the slower. The 2300 would be more for straight crawling. The 3100 would be a nice mix of crawl and bash. IMO anyway. I hope this helps.

Calderwood : I know, but at first I do not need a more torque, because this Wraith will be primary for bashing on rugged terain and secondly I "love" Tekin stuff :-) Wraith crawling capability will be as benefit and may not be perfect.

Just wondering: Is it possible to run a Holmes 35t TorqueMaster Pro with a Axial AE-2 without anything going wrong (overheating ect.)?

I'm lost on this "pitch" thing. I am getting a Wraith, going to be crawling, trail running.
Going to buy a Holmes 35t torque master combo. Say I go with a 16t pinion. What pitch should my pinion and spur be? Oh ,the spur was going to be 84t per what I think I read correctly.
And is it 5mm, or6 shaft size. Thanks

I've gone with a Tekin Fxr/45tHD combo. 32p 60t spur and 10t pinion. Running 2s now.
Crawls great, not much for speed, debating the 3s.
Will 3s be too much or just right for this setup?
Already have the Castle bec installed to handle the Solar 772 servo. MIP driveshafts are in.
Axles are stock for now, I plan upgrading them next. What differential gears would be the
the right combo?
I will most likely be 60% crawl & 40% trail/ bashing.

I'm running the cheaper Holmes 35 turn motor with the stock axial AE-2 esc with a castle BEC, and it is fine....

also I run it on 3S and the stock esc beeps 3 times to tell you it knows your running 3S. this info is on here other places but Axial will never tell you to run 3S....

What do you think of this set up? I want the cheap version of what a
Tekin 3300 and a Pro 4 can do??? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hobbywing-E...Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item485d9ef13b

That would be terrible for crawling. A nonsensored 3800kv motor is going to cog like crazy.

The shaft size of that motor is 1/8". 48p is quieter and 32p is stronger. I always run 32p on off-road stuff. A 14t 32p pinion would work good with a 56-60t 32p spur for your motor.
