Choosing a motor and ESC for your Wraith - Gearing Added!

Ok so maybe someone here can help, got a mamba Max pro esc with a tekin 21.5 red line motor got it soldered and in my psw and for some reason my reverse seems slow to me but forward seems to work ok and also what spur/pinion would you suggest for this motor?

Did you recalibrate the end points?

Did you plug the ESC into the Castle link and make sure it is programmed for 100% reverse and not just 50%?

The first page will have gearing info, that is a slow motor but the gearing listed up front is still probably the way to go.

So I got a 17.5 sensored brush less set up on the bench. Was thinking about throwing itin my rig to try out the brushless craze. What is 17.5 equal to in kV??

Motor and gearing Gods... I have questions for ye:

I have a HH BR_XL waterproofed. Looking at doing 80% bashing / 20% crawling. The rig is going to get dirty and wet. Mostly trail running. I'll be running 4s Lipo and I want speeds of about 15 MPH or more? Looking at these motors:

  • Holmes Hobbies TrailMaster Pro 540 (27T)
[*]Tekin T-Series Hand Wound Pro (35T)
    [*]Team Brood?

Gearing? Spur / pinion? I have the stock spur on hand.

All praise is due to the Motor and Gearing Hypno Toad

Brood vs Holmes just pick your poison. They are both top quality.

First page for gearing?

Honestly though if you want it to be fast and still crawl you want a 4 pole brushless that is 3000-3500kv.

You are going to run into severe brush wear on those motors running 4s. You will likely have around 4 hours of run time before you'll need to replace the brushes. You can probably get 3-4 brush swaps done before you need to have the comm turned.

You would be best off with a waterproofed brushless system.

nigels_world, I hear you on the HH or Brood. Rock solid all the way around.

Harley, thanks for the advice. That is good to know. I don't have time for hassling around so maybe I'll run 3s and take it slower? As for the brushless world, I'll be getting a separate MMxP/ROC412 setup later.

Need some help gearing my wraith. I have 45t novak what gearing should I go with in 48p or 32p
