Chicklet's ***2012*** T1E Rockshow SS XR10

Good to see you yesterday Britt."thumbsup" Truck looked good, sorry to hear you were having mechanical problems. It was good to see Greg "Nissan Kid" competing also. He is a really nice guy"thumbsup" I'm going to try to make the next RCA comp.
It was great seeing you too! That'd be great if you could come down here!

The truck looks killer. Sorry again about the splashdown dance.
Thanks! Yep I'm a ditz.

The truck goes in the water, not you!
Like the color of the chassis "thumbsup"
Thanks speedracer!

I guess I missed it. What happened?
Haha I put my foot in a little puddle getting out of the way of Grims truck. I thought he was going to jump through a gate but didn't lol :lmao:

Me too...sounds like she went for a swim
Just a little splash! LOL...the water was a little too chilly for a swim.

Thanks for the vid Colby!

So I just watched the video.
Im curious as to why you can't back through the gate and then forward to make progress?

Yes, progression through a gate opposite the intended direction results in an automatic DNF for that course. Smartest thing ive said in a while.... :ror:

Yep...your truck cannot enter a gate in the wrong direction...no matter which way your truck is pointing. You will be given a 10 point penalty for any portion of your truck entering a gate in the wrong direction.

1.12 - Course Direction (10 pts) Gates must be cleared in their intended direction and sequence. Any part
of the vehicle entering an un-cleared gate in the wrong direction, or driven through out of sequence will result in a 10
point penalty. The judge will stop time. The vehicle is then moved back by the driver to the previously cleared gate with
the rear axle aligned to that gate. If the vehicle cannot be aligned to the gate due to course design, the judge will
reposition the vehicle to the next stable location after the cleared gate. This location will be used for all drivers. Once the
gate is cleared and awarded progress it can be traveled in any sequence or direction.

Yes, its a course direction rule.

Truthfully, I think its a stupid rule.
It costs a driver time and one could enforce a penalty. But to hit someone with 10pt. Penalty for reversing a gate in order to get forward progress and be repositioned?
Jesus!

So my point was that a judge should not say you can't go through the gate. But advise you of the penalty.

DNF?

It doesn't say that in the rules! Jeesh

Seems like you guys are hardcore.

Ohhh oh. Someone is talking smack.
Now go read the scale rules and then respond again.

SORCCA has the same rule.

Here is why I say its stupid.
What benefit does one have with time by going around, taking a penalty, and a reverse by backing all the way through a gate just to get the points.

The ONLY benefit is completing a gate if someone needs to do so.

But wrapped by an experienced driver one running the gate as the rules state and another one running a gate like I describe minus the resetting your truck at the last gate.
I would believe the one running the rules would still benifit point wise.

But depending on the course design, I think it would be tied out for time.
just a personal opinion.
