cbp27's Class 3 JK Build

This Jeep may be my favorite, even tho I'm not really a Jeep guy. Ground wasps must really suck. We don't have those here in Hawaii. Glad to here everyone survived. Trenton does outstanding work! Everything about this build is quality! I like it very much!"thumbsup"

Here are some pics from a night trail run we did last night.

Nice job"thumbsup"

Thanks for the complements guys! Thanks for the pics John "thumbsup" I'd really like to go back to St. Peters soon

I'm in the process of a few mods. First is wheelbase. I added more Traxxas Jato rod ends to the front and my wheelbase is currently 12" strong. I'm still working out the link/truss setup in the front and rear. Some Vanquish high clearance knuckles are coming in to help with steering. Does anyone know the tie rod length (eye to eye) to use with these on a standard Axial front axle?? Any help would be great! "thumbsup"
I'll also be adding a few more ounces of weight on the front wheels soon.

Jeep is really dirty  , but you can see the longer "reach" up front.
**Note: The front tires look way out front due to the angle of the photo. They only extend 3/8" past the winch plate. (still good though! "thumbsup")

Flex is still good.

Get workin lol. Gonna do some fender wells? Did you figure your interior out?

She's coming along!

I'm taking my good ol' time haha I'd like to get the chassis finished before I put the fender wells in.

Today I actually managed to do something on it! I shortened the front upper links by 3mm to help the axle's pinion angle and steering.
I also started working on the interior again. Right before the last comp I hacked it all up to make it work with Trenton's awesome tubework. It was pushed way too far back and the VP dig bumped it up higher too. I did some more hacking today and it looks great! Although, to compensate for it being too high, I removed the Recaro seats....for now. I may end up replacing them with those Team3six thin aluminum seats. (which will save some weight too!)
Oh, and I removed the side windows for some fresh air lol

Don't mind the dusty interior, but how does it look?

Nice job! Hopefully we can get some crawling in this week!

If you go in the evening maybe I can join. I am supposed to have all my pieces parts for Bad Turtle by Wednesday. Cross my fingers!

Wes

Thanks Chris!! It's great to see it in action "thumbsup"

Just put this Jeep through it's first official comp. One big thing that's killing this rig is that I'm still using old 2S lipos. I'll soon be upgrading to 3S. Replacing the stock memory foams with some firmer 2-stagers will also help a lot. I also had the front axle cups popping out of the dogbones so I'll have to figure something out for that problem. And of course the interior is still being worked on.

Thing came out great!...love this jeep.

Thanks man! I like how your FJ turned out "thumbsup"

I finally got some much needed batteries! I've been using the same two old 2s Lipo's for about 18 months and I couldn't take it any more. These should do the trick...

My foams should arrive tomorrow and I'll need some more styrene to complete the interior...again. Shouldn't be too long now!

haha thanks man!

I've been really busy with school lately, so no time for this build right now. Hopefully I can work on it some more once I settle into my classes. I plan on getting some more styrene to finish the rear interior soon though, and I got some Team3six Racing seats too! "thumbsup"

Soooo

Dumb question

How is the interior/ body held on?

Justin

It's not a dumb question. The interior is zip-tied to the roll cage, and the body has two tiny screws holding it down. Trenton did an awesome job at making sure the body was nice and snug on the roll cage he made for it. "thumbsup"

It came out so NICE!

I really want to do a styrene interior on my Pro Line JK like yours.

Maybe this will be my inspiration ha ha
