So a while back I picked up this built SCX24 Deadbolt on trade for some TRX4 parts. I never really did much with it, and it just kinda sat around in the corner of my room. Recently I found an old 1/18 JK diecast in my closet that had a suspiciously similar wheelbase to the
SCX24...

One thing led to another, and then I decided to make a mock-up to see if it would fit.

It actually fit surprisingly well, although I definitely needed to trim it. I've been working on it for the past two days on getting it to fit just right.

This is how it looks currently. I need to trim maybe one or two more things but for the most part I think it's ready to go. I also relocated the battery to the front under the hood.

Hopefully I can get it mounted properly within the next couple of days. I also need to pick up a new steering servo since the Injora one that came with it stripped the gears, which is why I haven't used the darn thing for a while in the first place. I'm also gonna look for some stiffer shocks or springs, as they're fully compressed whenever the body is on.

Ended up getting rid of this thing, lost interest. I just couldn't really get into these smaller scale trucks, same reason I got rid of my UTB18. Was an alright rig though.

They are great for makeshift indoor play, campsite/travel runabouts. Every trip we make there are 3 of them in a case on the floorboard that does not really take up any space with extra parts, tools, grab and play type of thing. Now that I think about it I should probably check on those batteries…
