Bender's SCX10 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon

I've admired all your builds, this one's no different. You rock! Quick question though, any suggestions on gearing? I see you're using a 55t motor right? Advantages/disadvantages compared to a 45T 35T or even the 27T? Would it change the complete character of the vehicle?

Thanks. 8)

I choose a 55t motor for the low speed throttle control. And when used with 3S lipos they have decent wheel speed too. Gearing is stock all the way around. "thumbsup"

Hey there Bender! I just got my SCX10 Jeep scaler. Been looking at one for around 6 months! I was wondering if you have a URL to a relocation of the battery to the front write up. And An installation of the Rear sway bar write up! Im pretty new to this! Thanks man! Great looking stuff!"thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup":lmao:

I just finished a write up for Axial's blog on re-locating the battery, it should go live this week sometime I believe. Very simple mod.

The sway bars are a fairly easy mod too, but will limit travel a lot if the actual sway bar itself isn't cut in half. I will try to take some photos of that set-up for you. "thumbsup"

Thanks man! Also, how are you getting so much articulation from the front? Im assuming it is the sway bar on the rear, correct me if i am wrong however! :afro:

I cut the stock rubber bumpstops off all 4 of the shock shafts to get a little more travel. "thumbsup"

So I just came back from my LHS and hardware store with no luck finding the right screws. Can these be ordered somewhere?

You couldn't find 1" and 3/4" (or 5/8") machine screws? Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Lowe's Home Improvement, etc.

I know how dumb it looks, but yeah, Home Depot didn't have anything the same size. I bought some 1" wood screws that are the same threads to try but they were too short.

Let me see if i can find some part numbers for you on the screws tomorrow when I get to work. I will post up here when I find them. "thumbsup"

What did you end up using for the inner fenders?... thats one of my next must have add on's

If you can't find cd cases, tupperware works great too! Yeah I seen him do this on another build and I tried it... Thanks for sharing you ideas I like the subtle mods you did ... great Jeep!

Part numbers are as follows. AXA468 for the shorter self tapping screws and AXA471 for the long. They should come with 10 screws per pack. "thumbsup"
