Attn: NEWBIES POST HERE<<<<<<

Hi everyone. My name is Jerry and I live in Saskatoon, Sask, Canada. I recently purchased a Traxxas TRX-4 Defender in grey. Looking forward to crawling and personalizing my rig. Many, many years ago I built a Tamiya Toyota truck so not new to RC. "thumbsup"
Welcome Jerry! Congrats on your purchase. Im sure you'll find lots of good info here:
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/traxxas-trx-4/
... and maybe some fellas to crawl with here:

hello fellow crawlers.

been into rc for many years. Started with a traxxas monster buggy in the late 90's then a nitro stampede. eventually got into dirt racing running TA tc3, losi xxx, Tamiya 4wd rally and finally a factory team rc10gt. moved on to asphalt running an serpent 1/10 4wd car. a hudy xray, a tc3 and a nitro tc3.
took up electric park flyers and eventually got into 3d flat foam flyers. took about 8 years off(started my own cabinet shop) not having enough time and funds to keep going.

business is good lately and a friend of mine who i used to run my stampede with stopped by with a trx4 bronco in early may...

long story short i grabbed one up the next day and have been having a blast with it.

been building it up with hop up parts and sucking up as much info as i
can find on this site.

looking forward to more great posts.

Hi Richard, and welcome [emoji106]
I also furnish my son with toys I want to mess about with so might be able to offer some advice, I'm also in the UK.

How old is he, what sort of terrain are you planning to run on and do you have a budget in mind?

Thanks for the response crawler. He’s coming up to 9. We will be running it on Earth and man made obstacles of wood and stone.

The 2 models i was looking at were both about £150. I was hoping to be around that budget.

He does an FTX colt which he likes and has good control over but he loves the crawlers. As do I [emoji6]

The FTX Mauler then in my opinion;)
There's a good owners thread over on MSUK as well which is a really good predominantly UK site.
My boy's 9 and rocks a Wraith which he is surprisingly extremely confident with!
Modelsport sell the Mauler at £150 and have shown good customer service in the past as well.

That’s brilliant thanks for the heads up. I have downloaded the msuk forum as well. Some time interesting stuff on the mauler.

Welcome to the forum and the hobby...and the addiction. :ror: It's a family thing for us too.

You have courses in Asheboro? Pray tell!

I'm new to all of this. Live near OKC. Just bought my first crawler a couple days ago. Its a "gently" used Axial SCX10II Honcho. It's definitely seen better days but for $200 it runs and it came with a big box of extra parts. I haven't had time to dig into it much yet to see what exactly is upgraded but it's got aluminum links, Traxxas ESC and motor, and a wireless winch. It also came with 4 different sets of tires. The ones on it look nice but they are huge and don't clear.

Maybe I'm missing something but do you really have to use a URL to add a picture?

I added one here from Google photos but it doesn't seem to be working in the preview

Hey! My name is Javier. I live in Northern California, Sacramento area.

I have a stock Slash 4X4 for now.

I was on YouTube looking a the mods one can do for the Slash when stumbled upon Axial Wraith, Honcho and the RR10 Bomber.

Those 3 really had me hooked. I googled best RC Crawler forums and this is what came upwas first.

I am torn between the RR10 Bomber and the Honcho. I just know there will be mods that’s for sure.

Welcome Bo, and congrats on you purchase! You got a great deal; I paid $200 for mine as a used slider (no wheels, body, or electronics)! Find out more about your rig here: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial-scx10-ii/
...and maybe find some friends to crawl with here:
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/oklahoma/
As for adding pics, you may have to be around for a while first.

Welcome to RCC, Javier! This is definitely the right place to learn about those RC's. The Bomber is a great go-fast trail rig and rock racer:

...while the Scx10 ii Honcho/Jeep is a fantastic walking-speed trailer/climber/crawler:

Check out:

...to find some fellow crawlers to hang out with, and let the community here know if you have any questions; we're generally pretty friendly. ;)

Noob to the forum, not to RC's.

I was talking to "Zack" of RPP Hobby and he directed me here to this forum. I've searched and read a lot of things here and decided to join.

I have one question:
What replacement springs fit the Pro-Line Powerstroke XT's? I want stiffer ones than what they come with. Why they don't make a spring kit is beyond me.

About me...
What kind of rigs do I have?
Got a modded Axial 1/10th Yeti for bashing(running 3s) and HPI Savage 4.6 SS Nitro. Both were from kit form.

Where you live?
Maryland

Why I joined?
I have broke pretty much everything on the Yeti at some point and have replaced many, many pieces. Some work and some don't when it comes to bashing. All things put aside, I really do like my yeti. And thought I's share my knowledge and learn some new too.

Welcome ATYA! Glad you found us. I don't know the answer to your question, but I'll bet dollars to Krispy Kreme's that Google does:

Hey there I'm a newbie. I've been lurking for quite a while and have joined because I am building a Bully 2 and I am wondering how to run front and rear dig with 2 esc's through the remote rather than using a dig switch

I have a Gmade R1 heavily modified that crawls quite nicely now

I'm from Australia originally but live in Mission, BC, Canada now
