any crawlers in MN?

I heard it was going to be 100+ degrees on Sunday.

Yeah... I've seen the outlook for Sunday to be the hottest day of the year so far. They predict 100 + high humidity ("danger zone").
I'm not sure if I'll be making it if it's that hot, most likely I won't. I don't think the fun-factor can out weigh the heat... If you know what I mean, feeling like s*** the whole day.
Who knows, things could change. But at the rate this week is going, I don't think the temps will be too far off.

sounds like he is game for the comp , he wants to take a look at all the different crawler builds to see what he wants for a crawler

The temps are already looking better for sunday now. One site says 90, other 93. And Saterday will be the hotter of the two days this weekend.

Sundays comp

Well, I'll be there even if it's 120. It's right along the river, cooling off is as easy as a jump in the river. Drink lots fluids etc. I'll probably do both. I was hospitalized once for a heat stroke. Heat can be very dangerous. Please everyone, wear light clothing, bring plenty of cold water (not pop) sunscreen, and maybe a towel for that jump in the river? The key is to prepair yourself for the forecast as well as you do your truck for the competition.
Sounds like we might have an out of town competitor coming from Omaha. RD400 may come up and run with us, Mnster and his bro also mentioned it was only another 4 hours from the Sat Devils Lake Wi gtg. I have an empty apt I'm going to offer Mnster and his bro if they wanna follow me back to the Twincities Sat night. All the guys from the MWRCA are good guys, and I hope they will come and run with us.
Last I heard Saturday is supposed to be the hotter of the 2 days. Should be a hot comp ;-) I'm driving down to the Devils Lake gtg Sat and back Sat night. Gonna be a long hot, fun weekend.

I would also like to toss this out for a vote.
While I know getting up early for some people sucks on a weekend, but.....
since it is supposed to get so hot. Anyone up for moving the comp to even 1 hour earlier??
Post up a yay or nay please. It will save us some extra time in the heat since it's usually cooler in the am.
We can always skip tech inspection and trust everyone will follow the rules since its for fun, if someone's rig looks way off, we can always get out the tape.

Good luck to all competitors!!!!!!!!!

No better place, he'll get to view alot of different trucks Sunday.
To me, thats a big part of this club, making new friends, sharing idea's, pitching in and helping your fellow crawlers, beating on your junk, etc ;-)
All great fun

Oh, and Nickelpimp, my grandma on my dads side was a sun goddess, she never really had to ever work, (and most women in her day didn't anyway) never smoked or drank, very healthy, but I swear by the time she was 90, her skin looked just like that pic 8)

Edit: after watching the Fox news tonight, it seems we're on the brink of a big war in the Middle East. Might be another 6 day war though. Go Israel!!!

Freetime, I'll toss somthing together quick to measure the wheelbase on the TLT's. All I need to do is measure out two holes at 12.5 inches apart on some aluminum and bolt up some rod. If the wheel nuts do not line up with or shorter then the rod, its illegal. Very simple jig to make.

Now I may be wrong, but it sounds as though you think that the rig has to have a 12.5" wheelbase or longer? ("If the wheel nuts do not line up with or shorter then the rod, its illegal.") Maybe it's just the wording that's throughing me off.
According to the rules, "
Vehicle wheelbase is a maximum 12.5 inches." So it can be shorter.

Planning on coming out for the comp, definitely not going to win, but definitely going to have fun.:)

Glad to have you come out!! Also glad to see that you're not gonna win:flipoff:
Seriously though, the more the merrier-just be ready for a hot one!

Yeah my brother is coming also, thats 2 Clods and 2 TLT's.

My steering servos are junk, they don't have the power they once had. I really need to find time to send them back to get them fixed.

I was thinking MN was cold place to live. I was always thinking about moving up there cause the humid air down here sucks.

Ah oh well, I guess I'll have to bring lots of liquids.

One Question though, I see on your website that there is a rule against rear steer on the 2.2's. But, I also see that it is allowed in the 2.2 Mod class. So, you guys have two 2.2 classes? Are you running them both on Sunday? Both of my TLT's are running rear steering.

Yep, we're running both 2.2 classes. We originally established both classes in our club because we have people running both, and also in case we have visiters, like yourselves, who normally run the rear steer.

Oh yeah, we can get hot up here. I'm listening to the news right now and they're saying possible heat index of about 100 degrees this weekend. Do us a favor, when you guys come up here, leave that humidity at home!;-)

Ohh as for the time I would be fine with the early start. But with nicklepimp, he won't be there until noon anyways :flipoff:
