any crawlers in MN?

Yep, we'll be in the same building again. I think you'll be in the same spot, but I suggested to Mike to have the Mini-T track down further, partially to give more room for both your course and our track, partially to give more room between for picnic tables, spectators, etc. I thought it would be cool to have a place in the middle for people to sit and/or eat, out of the sun, and be able to see what's going on from there.

So how much bigger is your course going to be this year?

Hard to say how big it will be until we lay everything out... We know the foam coarse is 4x8 or 4x9? I found a pallet of rocks I am going to pick up tonight, if they are still there. Troy has some rocks he can bring, as does Casey. I think we might spread things out a bit more, instead of covering rocks with rocks.

Do you have any idea what the dirt situation is? Can we move around the dirt that is in the barn already, dig holes and what not?

We can definitely move "some" dirt. I'm assuming (hoping) the skidsteer will be available. We dug in a little bit to make the Mini-T track, but only an inch or two. I'm sure they don't want us to go too deep, but maybe an inch off the whole building "floor" could be scraped up into a pile for you guys. The stuff on top is dry, dusty, loose, and full of wood chips (amongst others things, it IS a barn!). Underneath the material is very hard, almost too hard to dig with the skidsteer. You could talk to Mike about bringing in some dirt from somewhere else, IF there's some available.

If you guys are gone by monday morning, I can run through with the skidsteer and level everything back out while the team race is going on.

Something to keep in mind, that I missed last year...... there will be some traffic through the building since the ends are the only way in and out. And you will be between the food trailer and the tables LOL!

Good to know. We were thinking of making a few trenches for the scalers if possible.

That'd be great! Thanks! Our plan is to be gone no later than Sunday.

Selling Out!!!!!

Hi Guys

I have decided that I am wishing not to participate in Rock crawling any longer. I have decided to test the waters in the real world of rock crawling. I will be posting all current rock crawling vehicles and their accessories within the next few days on craigslist. This does not include my current TLT scale truck. Pictures will be posting on my listing within craiglist. If you wish to purchase anything from me please let me know by email. Thanks and good luck in the competitions.

John Vevea

I just wanted to wish our MNRCRC Moab competitors the best of luck at the Nationls "thumbsup"

And have fun with your 1:1 crawling John V.
Don't be a stranger around here.
Post up some pic's of your 1:1 project.

Nobody ever came to get me to help move rocks with the skid steer.... did you guys do it all by hand?

I didn't get a chance to level out the dirt in the pole building before I left, but once the rocks were gone, it looked like it should be pretty easy for Fisk or someone to do.

Nice actually talking to you all there, hopefully see you there next year! And maybe I'll actually try to drive my truck next year?

Hey Sean, we couldn't find where you went off to, so we loaded them in my truck by hand. It wasn't to bad... 4 loads, went quicker then I thought it would. The last load was pretty light too.

If you don't think your truck is ready for the rocks next year, don't be shy about asking one of us to try our trucks out :)

Mike

You coulda followed the fourwheeler tracks and hunted me down LOL.

Thanks for the offer on the truck..... I have quite a bit of time before next year though.

Yeah Mike, I've got mine built. It's bone stock for now. I actually like it so far for the little I've run it. Very little torque twist with a 55t for as much flex as it has, and then only on full throttle take off. As soon as I mount a body up, I think I'm going to go down to the river for a test run.

MN biased Nationals coverage:lol:"thumbsup"

The courses were ridiculously tough the time limit made things even rougher forcing people to decide which gates to take. Most if not all of us pointed out at 40 points on nearly every course. We still had fun though. Moab rock is awesome.

Brushlessnut, was flogged with truck issues throughout the day. First he plugged the truck in set it on the ground backed up and broke his new RCP rear pinion shaft off. He scrambled to get the truck together for the first course. After stealing parts from PoisonIvy's TLT he was back in time to start the first course with seconds to spare. Snapping body clips on as he was being called. On the first run he had radio issues. John Holmes was on site to help him find the issue for the second course. They determined it was a bad BEC unit.

Tough Hill on the 2.2 course I eventually made it up but pointed out when I hit the cone at the top. The dig servo was smashed off the rear deck on my first attempt up the hill.

This tumble removed the dig servo. Went with without dig the whole comp.:|

Bigballer has pics of himself, I used his camera for pictures.

I'll be uploading videos of his and others course runs once I find a faster internet connection. The 32K wireless connection at the cabin just ain't gonna cut it.

Jerry's r/c guys were great in the super class. I'll have to upload more pictures later.
