any crawlers in MN?

well i was out my local racing club's new offroad track that where constructing. and i brought my crawler of course. and that got the crawling ball rolling and there was talk of installing a crawl area next the track. and they said theyd welcome hosting an MNRCRC event in the future. crawling popularity is growing around here for sure. there is already an area maybe 800 feet from the track that would be good for crawling a spot where they have dumped blast-rock. there was all sorts of ideas being bounced around like maybe getting the clubs togther on the same weekend for a race/ crawl event. Our new track is gonna be the nicest in Mn. were gonna have huge outdoor lighting, power everywhere.there is camping available on site, were gonna have it all!
well just thought i'd bounce some of these things of yall that were said today."thumbsup"
oh yeah ill try to get pics up if yall want

no the track is no longer at spirit mt. we are now located at the proctor fairgrounds not that far away from spirt mt. also it is 2-3 times larger than the that track

I was looking over the drivers list for the next comp. Looks like about 12 confirmed, and about 5 or so not. It looks like when the weather is nice, and the nitro boys aren't running the same weekend, we could have some pretty big comps this year. Especially when the out of towners come. Then add on the others that have expressed interest this Spring.
Wow, big list, all in about 1 year of being an official club "thumbsup"

Hey, I've been meaning to talk to you guys about the Battle at the border event. When is it? Maybe we could setup a best out of 2 or three or something with prizes. One up there one down here ect.

Also since you have all the people with the scale trucks (My club only has three what I would consider active members with scale trucks.) I was wondering if you guys could perhaps setup a scale truck comp. Similar to the Montana scale crawl event or the Augusta event. Just a one big day event maybe setup prizes camping ect. I'd gladly help all that I can.

Ben, the "Battle At The Border comp is Sunday Aug 26th.

Those are definatly some ideas to toss around. And this is the place to do it.
Post up your thoughts guys on Bens idea's

I think a scale comp would be sweet, I think we should check out some of those soutern parks for a scale comp location ;-)

We would need two classes, 2.2 and 1.9. Not sure what we would want to put my fj40 in, as its a 1.9 with tall tires... But it looks funny with smaller tires, and 2.2's wouldn't clear on the back of the frame.

i'd be game for a scaler comp as well , maby i'll have mine done by then

and Paul "Farakai" has a 5th scale race this weekend at "The Shoe" in the andover/anoka area so he wont make it , still wish'n him good luck tho

You sally's and your 1.9's will not come close to what the 2.2's do. Pony up and fix your rig Etype, you know the cool kids already have them.
I actually have some 1.9's being made and don't care either way. I think the 1.9's are a little on the small side.;-)

Ryan

Ryan, you have seen my 1.9's haven't you? They are taller then the agerage 1.9 tire ;-) I didn't do that cut and section BS, I just cut up a sedan tire and glued it into the 2.2 bead, leaving my with a full size 2.2 tire height and a more scale looking rim "thumbsup"

I haven’t had a whole lot of time too work on it. This is what I did.
A: Changed the gear ratio on the rear drive.
B: Added a hood and bolted on my side body panels.
C: Changed the rear 4 link too improve squat.
D: Add 40w oil to the shocks (I was running them dry before)

It’s starting too look like something but still needs a little clean up. Here’s a pic

Meh, my little IFS yota with rock hard scale 35"s can take it. We are allowed to winch."thumbsup"

We need to find a place with some rocks but mostly just terrain. Creek beds, hill climbs that kind of thing.

well ive come to an conclusion that the best place for a gtg in the duluth/superior area after searching and scouting would be Brighton beach in duluth, and you wouldnt even have to pay to park! besides yall could say youve crawled in lake superior. ive yet to scout jay cook though, but im convinced that brighton beach would be the best place. will post pic when uploaded"thumbsup" we gotta get something scheduled up here if not to late8)

I like how mean it looks."thumbsup"
