Really like the home brew solid axle shaft and tube ends.

I see no reason that by using these you cannot have a wider or narrower axle, or am I missing something?

Is stainless bar good material to make the axle from?
Not an expert in this area but I know A2 stainless bolts are not as strong as some other steels.
Perhaps the alloy steel tha drill bits are made from as they resist twisting or it may be better to allow some twist???

Awesome. You just saved me some money. I just added a 4 link to the rear and was trying to fiqure out how I was going to fix the axles without ordering a lock out kit. Thanks!

In desperation at finding out that the Hot Racing straight axle kit is no longer available I did this Saturday night. First one took me ~3 hours because I kept dremeling - fitting - dremeling - fitting, until I got it just right. Second one took an hour because I had already figured out the process lol. Only thing is, is I had to modify some of the flanged screws that came with the truck to about 8mm because once screwed in the full 10mm bound the axle shafts up. I'll upload pics later tonight. I still need to finish them with sanding, and painting. Looks great and really cleans up the rear end for a good look. For roughly $30 in material incl. the epoxy/paint/2' length of PVC from Home Depot I've got a lot of potential spares that I can make should these break.
