Hey Guys! as the title says its been a LONG time since I've had a crawler, in fact when I was last into it the "Mudcow" clod was the BEST thing ever lol (I can't even find its videos or pics anymore :(. I still have my old clod in bits in a box from back in the days before Axial started making their cool gear. I have been a member on this forum for many many years also and managed to remember my username and p/w first try "thumbsup" lol. Now I have 2 friends who are right into it and I've finally managed to convince the boss to allow me to purchase a rig! So happy to have chosen the SCX10 ii to come back with. I got myself a rtr kit as I don't have any 2.4g receiver gear and the 3 channel one that came with the rtr should be good for a spare once I upgrade latter on. Anyways Upgrades..

I am thinking of getting the following in this order, any extra ideas or advise welcome!

Stainless Screw set:
one run and I already have rust! mind you it was raining and I was following a creek lol.

Alloy Rims:
I want something like these but in chrome to match my 1:1 rig
Hot Racing Axial SCX-10 II RC Car upgrades and Hop-ups

Tyres:
1.9 KLR silvers (if I ever find them in stock!). Although I do like the look of Axial's BFGoodrich Krawler™ T/A® KX tyres. Love the height of the stock ones.

shocks:
RC4WD King Off-Road Dual Spring Shocks (100mm) I like the idea of a little extra travel from 100mm shocks, and I hate the look of fake Reservoirs.

Axial wheel wells:
basically for easier cleaning after a run lol will look for cheaper options for a bit b4 forking out for the real deal.

Motor / ESC:
Im happy with the stock for now, seams to go very well! but would love to go brushless but has to be water proof. this is a bit $$ to come too soon but thinking holmes hobbies combo of some sorts plus a couple of different pinion gears.

anything you guys think I should look at before this? experience or ideas please!!

and below my rig sitting on a set of my mates Losi tyres, 10 min walk from home!! :flipoff:

that.... 10 minutes walk from home? Tell me, how could you have stayed away from the hobby for this long with that sort of scenery! :)

As to your questions, only thing I can really comment on (new to the hobby myself) is the wheel wells. I just cut up some throwaway salad containers for wheel wells. Slap on some paint, and you have them for free (just a few hours sunk in).

Here are the results from my SCX10-2

IVIaarten, we have only just moved to this place :) state forrest behind us with my own private gate ;) Its part of what I used to convince the minister for finance to let me get one hehe. Thanks for the pic of your wells! I will just have to keep my eyes open for the right sort of cheap plastic bowls!
