Howdy folks. After being out of the hobby for more than 10 years (closer to 14 actually) I've been bit by the bug and exploring which way to jump back into RC. Crawling has the biggest appeal/draw to it. Just wanted to make a post and say hey, still see a lot of the old timers from back in the day posting threads and comments which is cool. As I peruse through old threads and even searching my old username it makes me wish I had taken more photos of all the rigs over the years. From 2004 to my departure in the hobby in 2010ish, between bashers, 1/10th and 1/8th off road racing and crawlers and a very brief venture into indoor carpet on-road I estimate about 50 rigs and I can only find maybe 3 pics total lol.
This thread is honestly a bit pointless and is coming to y'all as I sit at work drinking coffee and scrolling the Vanquish website lol. Man the hobby has changed. Comp crawlers are skeletons with weird skinny tall tires, scale rigs are off the charts realistic, tires are officially licensed 1:1 replicas, which was rare back in the day. I look forward to getting back in, but Im starting from scratch as far as equipment goes. I love that this forum is still around, seems that the activity has slowed to a...crawl...lol. I'll keep an eye on this and update as I decide which direction to go in the hobby, leaning towards the H10 Optic as an all around use case rig, seems like a decent platform for having something for the rocks but also a little go fast run about rig I can take camping and to the beach.
Thats enough of my ramble, say hey if you want, keep tabs on my return, albeit a slow return but a return none the less.
